[SOLVED] Wireless not detected - E6530 with i5 3340

So, I have installed the wireless card but it doesn't detect any network. Any idea why?

Is the wireless card added to the list of interfaces in the Network Pref Pane? You could try and run a new myFix (quick) to rebuild your kext cache.

For some strange reason after restarting the laptop it started to work....

I just completed my 10.9.1 install using Jake Lo's tutorial.  The wireless does not work but was expected because my E6230 has the Intel wireless card.

 

However, when opening up the laptop to check the wireless card, I noticed a second Half Mini PCIe slot.

I was wondering if I could run both the OEM Intel wireless card and the Dell DW1510 at the same time because I am planing to do a dual boot Windows 8.1

 

I also suspected that I can just replace the Intel wireless card with the Dell DW1510 and install the appropriate driver for the DW1510 but realize that rebranding the DW1510 might give rise to some problems.

 

Please advise!

Yes, you can have both as that's how I have it install. Rebranding the card will not cause any issue as well.
