Dear herve The admin Of the site ..I Have done Extensive Checking and research and You mention that the Dell d630 intel Bootpack or even D620 would work on the Inpiron 1520 ..I have tried all Diffrent Combinations of Bootpacks and i cannot get it to work ..Can you give me Some sort of Suggestion on how I Can Run Lion ,Mountain or Mavericks on my Inspiron 1520 x3100 crestline ? So far i managed to Install Snow leopard 10.6.3 But using a Distro Made by iFail And i Would Really prefer to use My hack Method to install as its more Stable from my Experience on other Laptops.

Well, if I said those bootpacks should work, I meant the kexts and Chameleon/SMBIOS plists but not necessarily the DSDT table (that's very model specific). So, if you've use the packs "as is", yes, I would not be surprised you encountered problems.

1st try with the Generic bootpack. If you manage to boot the installer and install OS X (SL or Lion), then post the output of Terminal command lspci -nn. This will show us the precise hardware pieces of your Inspiron 1520 (well the large majority of it) and we'll take it from there.

NB: with Intel GMA X3100 graphics, you can only run 32bit kernel mode or you won't have any graphic acceleration (i.e.full QE/CI). But there's nothing wrong with running in 32bit kernel mode.

i managed to install lion but i would prefer to run mountain lion if possible i understand it will have to remain 32bit but its fine as long as i have full  hardware accelaration ...i used this link https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2464-dell-latitude-d630-intel-gma-x3100-ml-with-full-qeci/

the hi res pack as the low res one failed froze when installing but with the hi res pack from the link above all seems working apart from graphics no qe/ci or screen resoloution capabilities

Use whatever pack (=/Extra) you're currently using for your Lion installation. As I said, the packs posted for other models contain model-specific DSDTs. Don't expect that to work on your own Inspiron 1520.

You can follow the same process as explained in the guides, but use your current /Extra as a pack instead.

last night i managed to install mountain lion and update it fully to 10.8.5 and everything works fine apart from graphics ,i cannot get full graphics Hardware Qe/Ci Yet And the only pack which manages to work is the one i mentioned above ... the high res pack from the link above ,But again apart from that the machine is Running very nice all components working just cannot get the gpu to run full power and i cant even find a pre made dsdt file specific for my machine
