D830 nVidia not booting to OS X desktop

I have the same exact problem on my Dell D830 Nvidia as described here.
 
I did what's explain in the post to fix it but I still have the same issue at the next boot.
I've check with ls -@l again et the attributes were clean but I still have to boot with -f AND UseKernelCache=No.
Otherwise, the systems boots but stucks at the Gray Apple logo and the spinning wheel. I can access it via network or ssh but the UI doesn't load at all.

I've noticed that this problem slowly begin to spread to all my myHack-based Hackintoshes (v 3.3.1 - re-downloaded twice) and I can't figure out why and when the issue come from.

Your problems are different than in the thread you referred to. You appear to have either a corrupt or an incorrect kernel/kext cache, so I'd start by simply rebuilding it, either through myFix (quick) or through command line (sudo touch /S/L/E and/or sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel).

 

Also, try and replace the myfix exec inside myHack v3.3.1 by the attached corrected version. That will correct inability to display extensions in SysProfiler.

I tried every solutions you mentioned but none had success so far. I also tried the "myFix" myFix hack of myHack

There's clearly a problem with FakeSMC.kext and its plugins but after a re-install of it from Kozlek's FakeSMC & HW Sensors or just by updating HW Monitor and FakeSMC & Plugins, it's still the same.

 

And as I said, even by running again the new myFix, the kernel/kext cache seems to be corrupted.

you have to make sure you don't have fakesmc in both e/e and s/l/e if kozleck latest installer already put it in s/l/e remove it from e/e and run a my fix quick. kozlec has changed his version numbers to conflict with current my hack injection. why he did it only kozlec knows

But I already know that HW Monitor installs the FakeSMC & Plugins directly in S/L/E when a myHack setup puts it in E/E by default. So everytime I have to deal with install/re-install/update FakeSMC, I double check that it is only in E/E and I systematically do a myFix Quick to set everything OK.

 

But whatever, If I'm made no mistake, putting the FakeSMC.Kext & its plugins in E/E and running a myFix should automaticaly set it's version number to 1111 ? This way, it should be the newest one whatever other FakeSMC are installed and it should also be the only one to be loaded ?

 

But it doesn't matter as I have just one FakeSMC and it's in E/E

well... kozlec went higher on his new releases then 1111 and the plugins will have issues if set to 1111 as they check for his version numbers. so as i stated. install to s/l/e the new kozlec fakeSMC if you want to use the latest. and remove it from e/e since my fix will make it 1111 which will cause issues. or just use slices branch if you want to put it in e/e.

Well I think you're right. I was convinced that if myHack used to put FakeSMC in E/E there was a reason for. So I kept doing it it that way. But If I understand well, FakeSMC and Plugins are meant to be in S/L/E rather than in E/E because of versions numbers alterations due to myHack ?

no not my hacks fault. kozlec changed the way fakeSMC interacts with it's plugins to do a version check of loaded plugins. if my hack would make the version 9999 instead of 1111 then there is no issue using it in e/e like normal using my hack. but until the new my hack release, use kozlecs new fake SMC in S/L/E if you have to use it. but slices version does not have this version check that kozlec has added.

OK, I've installed it in S/L/E and now everything's OK. I no longer needs to boot with -f and UeKernelCache=No and no "missing… controller" anymore.
