Hamish Claxton
Unfortunately there is no devices under Sound in System Preferences, or in the Audio MIDI Setup app. I used Kext Utility to install the kext, which also repairs permission and cache. Moderators Jake Lo Posted March 30, 2015 Moderators Share Posted March 30, 2015 I'm still pretty new to Clover so bare with me here. I see you're missing some info for the SMBIOS, not sure if you left that out purposely. Try this config, I edited/added a few things. Do you have an SSDT? config.plist.zip
Hamish Claxton
The reason SMBIOS information is missing is because I originally used a preset config.plist. And have been modifying that. I have 9 SSDT's I can upload them if you want, however the only one I've been using so far is SSDT6 which is for the NVIDIA GPU.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted March 30, 2015 Moderators Share Posted March 30, 2015 No, don't need to. What you need is to generate one with ssdtprgen.sh by Piker-Alpha for SpeedStepping. Place that with your SSDT-6 and DSDT. What other patches have you add to your DSDT besides disabling the Nvidia card?
Hamish Claxton
The only other DSDT edit I have made is to inject the HD 4600 which works alongside the 9MB Framebuffer patch in Clover.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted March 30, 2015 Moderators Share Posted March 30, 2015 Your system is similar to my E7440, so I'm adding the same patches to your DSDT.  PNLF for brightness control IRQ fix Smbus fix RTC fix HPET fix Shutdown fix IMEI  DSDT.aml.zip
Hamish Claxton
Would generating the P States SSDT also generate the C States? What exactly do those fixes do? I'd prefer to patch the DSDT myself so I can understand whats happening. Thanks though.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted March 30, 2015 Moderators Share Posted March 30, 2015 Those are common fixes from Rehabman's github https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch  Have you tested the DSDT/Config to see if audio is working?
Hamish Claxton
Yeah sorry, didn't work. Also had to add a couple of items back into it. Would generating the P States SSDT also generate the C States?
Hamish Claxton
After patching my DSDT with the fixes listed above, I am unable to control the brightness with my keyboard controls, most likely due to _PNLF fix. Booting is extremely bright as well, kinda blinding and really hard to look at (verbose & Apple logo). I was also wondering about the patched kernel, I haven't patched mine yet and was wondering what I would gain from doing so.
