yves32
Thank you for your help. One more issue here, e5450 goes to sleep but never wakes up. Need to press power button to shutdown. Anything to do with DSDT?
Moderators Jake Lo Posted December 22, 2015 Moderators Share Posted December 22, 2015 Would it wake up if you just tap the power button?
yves32
No reaction if tapping the power button. Have to hold it for a while to shutdown.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted December 22, 2015 Moderators Share Posted December 22, 2015 Does your system have an Nvidia card as well? Have you generated an SSDT for your CPU?
Administrators Bronxteck Posted December 22, 2015 Administrators Share Posted December 22, 2015 also did you use terminal to set sudo pmset hibernatemode
yves32
Good idea. It may have gone into hibernation resulting in the problem. It is not a good idea to hibernate with SSD anyways. Issue this command and sleep seems to be working now. Thanks.
Administrators Bronxteck Posted December 22, 2015 Administrators Share Posted December 22, 2015 your welcome. you might also want to remove the sleep image sudo rm -rf /var/vm/sleepimage
yves32
I may have spoken too soon. When using Apple menu | Sleep, I can see screen going black. Pressing any key would wake up the computer. However, closing lid resulted in permanent sleeping and the computer cannot wake up. This is after the commands "sudo pmset hibernate mode 0" and "sudo rm -rf /var/vm/sleepimage". I did not generate SSDT file for my CPU.

Moderators Jake Lo Posted December 23, 2015 Moderators Share Posted December 23, 2015 Try this to completely remove the sleep image sudo pmset hibernatemode 0 sudo rm -f /var/vm/sleepimage sudo pmset hibernatefile /dev/null Get the script here to generate your own SSDT for Broadwell
