E6220 can't boot Yosemite with HDMI plugged in

Basically, you need the patched Intel SNB frame buffer (for Intel HD 3000 graphics) as that got overwritten by the 10.10.4 update. You need to repatch the kext after each update (or retrieve the patched kext from somewhere and replace the vanilla kext).
