sbhachu
Hi all, I've got Mavericks on my dell xps 210 using myhack. Can I upgrade to Yosemite using software update or will it fail miserably?
Administrators Hervé Posted September 5, 2015 Administrators Share Posted September 5, 2015 You can only do so if you have Clover: it will install a new partition on the HDD from which you'll then be able to proceed with a brand new install. With Chameleon, which is the normal bootloader of a myHack-based installation, you'll have to proceed with a brand new installation from scratch. However, you can safely install Yosemite over your existing Mavericks partition and it'll keep all your apps and files in a similar way to an actual update/upgrade. Moderators Jake Lo Posted September 6, 2015 Moderators Share Posted September 6, 2015 Follow this guide to create the Yosemite installer. Use your /Extra folder from the Mavericks system. You'll need to add "kext-dev-mode=1" to org.chameleon.boot.plist
