ssprod
Greetings.. All seems to be functional running El Cap on my E6420 (IntelHD3000).. however, assuming all models were equipped with a webcam, mine doesn't seem to be recognized on my machine. Installed "macam" but it doesn't see a camera either. Any suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks so much. ssprod

Moderators Jake Lo Posted October 28, 2015 Moderators Share Posted October 28, 2015 Issue is with the USB on El Capitan. See example from this thread.
ssprod
Thanks Jake.. So I applied the DSDT patch and installed USB_Injector.kext_v2, which resulted in successful USB recognition, however the internal webcam is still not functional...and Macam still "requires a connected camera". ssprod
Moderators Jake Lo Posted October 28, 2015 Moderators Share Posted October 28, 2015 That was just an example/guide. The kext included in that guide is for MBP5.1, you need to reconfig it to suit your MBP8.2/8.1.
ssprod
Will try, thanks. Apparently however, unless I config. to 5,2, my Dell1520 wifi won't work. ssprod
Moderators Jake Lo Posted October 28, 2015 Moderators Share Posted October 28, 2015 You could patch AirPortBrcm4360 to use MPB 8.2 due to the whitelisting. Are you currently using MBA 5,2?
ssprod
Yes, I'm currently MBA 5,2.. Doing as much reading as I can on this site, that is the only method by which my 1520 will function. So, there's another solution i'm assuming.. patch AirPortBrcm4360. Must investigate. Once again, thanks for your valuable insight, Jake.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted October 29, 2015 Moderators Share Posted October 29, 2015 In case you're still haven't figure it out. Here's the patch to add for MBP8,2 Add it to your config file under KextToPatch. It's untested, so let me know if it works after you switch your SMBIOS to MBP8,2 <dict> <key>Comment</key> <string>DW1520 Whitelist Patch (MBP8,2)</string> <key>Find</key> <data> TWFjLTJFNkZBQjk2NTY2RkU1OEM= </data> <key>Name</key> <string>AirPortBrcm4360</string> <key>Replace</key> <data> TWFjLTk0MjQ1QTM5NDBDOTFDODA= </data> </dict>
