karelson
Hey, I have E6230 and used to run Maverics with dual boot on the same HD. I have updated to EL capitan. How can I marge the partition back to one partition without deleting my osx partition? (If i go to disk utility and resize my osx partition it will delete it?) Thank you. Administrators Hervé Posted January 20, 2016 Administrators Share Posted January 20, 2016 OS X support dynamic partition resizing in DU. You can adjust existing partitions size albeit with certain limitations. For instance, you can't move the starting point of a given partition. If you want to revert from 2 partitions to 1, delete the defunct one. That won't delete the remaining one; it may resize it. Warning: DU of El Capitan and later is a lot less flexible than earlier versions.
Administrators Bronxteck Posted January 20, 2016 Administrators Share Posted January 20, 2016 Disk utility will only resize GUID partitioned drives. it will not resize MBR formatted drives.
karelson
well thank you, After some more research, for some reason, You can't do that in El Capitan, you have to do that from recovery partition or the install USB.
