Smakced
I've managed to install El Capitan on my Latitude E5440. The only thing I've gotten to work so far is the ethernet. I tried looking at tutorials to get the Intel HD 4400 graphics to work but nothing was successful, only thing I did was make it display the name of my graphics in the about this mac window. And I've also tried pretty much every tutorial on this site for the E5440 and still nothing is working. Please help me.

Smakced
I'm using Clover cloverefi.zip
Moderators Jake Lo Posted September 17, 2016 Moderators Share Posted September 17, 2016 Ok, replace these to your EFI/Clover partition, make a backup if you like Then copy all kexts in /EFI/Clover/Kexts/Other/LE to /Library/Extensions Click ok on the popup error. Open terminal and enter the following commands sudo chmod -Rf 755 /L*/E* sudo chown -Rf 0:0 /L*/E* sudo touch -f /L*/E* sudo chmod -Rf 755 /S*/L*/E* sudo chown -Rf 0:0 /S*/L*/E* sudo touch -f /S*/L*/E* sudo kextcache -Boot -U / Reboot E5440_Smakced.zip

Moderators Jake Lo Posted September 18, 2016 Moderators Share Posted September 18, 2016 You need to restore any vanilla kexts you might have manually patched or installed or removed. i.e. AppleHDA, AppleIntelFrameBufferAzul, AppleIntelHD5000Graphics, etc.
dlonewolf86
Which Kernel do I need for the install and boot? I have a haswell i5
Moderators Jake Lo Posted October 11, 2016 Moderators Share Posted October 11, 2016 Kernel? Are you on clover or Chameleon? For Chameleon, you'll need the patched kernel to bypass the auto reboot For Clover, you just need to have KernelPm enabled in Config.plist.
