Moderators Jake Lo Posted January 5, 2017 Moderators Share Posted January 5, 2017 You need to enable Optimus in the BIOS. The Nvidia is not working on Sierra, boots to blank screen but works perfectly on El Capitan. Try web driver, but same result. No fix for now. Administrators Hervé Posted January 5, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 5, 2017 Tried MBP9,1/10,1 SMBIOS? They're IvyBridge but those models have nVidia graphics. All MBP8,x have HD3000-only or dual HD3000/AMD graphics.
Arsalan
enable Optimus, disable optimus, with MBP 9,1/9,2/10,1 ivy Bridge but results in blank screen...
Administrators Hervé Posted January 7, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 7, 2017 'seems it's unsupported under Sierra then... Desktop GT610 has similar issue and is based on same/similar GF119 Fermi chip.
El Capitán
I've all but given up on Nvidia graphics on my E6520. Been wrestling with that for over a week now. The best I ever got was 2 monitor support (builtin display + DVI) using nv_disable=1 and Inject Nvidia in Clover. However, laptop was practically unusable and sleep would freeze the system. I've shifted my focus to AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB kext patching. All I'm trying to achieve is enabling a single external monitor: VGA/DVI or HDMI). So far no success but I'm staying optimistic. If you make progress on that front please share.

SNB FB patches for HD3000-only models are well known and documented.
