Forum rules (friendly)

Recommended Posts

Followup to Forum welcome message and our detailed user agreement:

Just like any other forum out there, we also have rules - ours might be a bit more simple / different.

The hell with running a forum...
Most forums have a tendency of getting bloated and filled up with crap - To deal with that all, useful information is moved to the wiki and topics are moved to the archive7 when no longer used in order to keep the forum fresh and clean - so don't take it personally if we delete a thread that you had started or messages you posted. it's the natural flow of things.

  1. No spamming, spammers will get SLAPPED*
  2. No flaming, flamers will get SLAPPED*
  3. Read the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) and use the Search facility before posting.
  4. Double (or multiple) posts will be deleted.
  5. Useless topics will be deleted
  6. Messages unrelated to the topic of a thread and/or polluting messages will be deleted.
  7. Topics with no activity (unless they serve a purpose) will be moved to
    "The Archive''https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/forum/24-the-archive/
  8. Warez, talk all you want but don't link to it (there is something called Private Messages you know).
  9. English only. If you want / need chatting in your own language, use the PM facility.
  10. No references, questions and/or links to TMX (tonycrap...). We don't support their tools and they have their own forum.
  11. Use quotes with moderation. No need to quote the last message in each reply you post. Only quote an older message (or better, use @) or part of a message you want to specifically refer to in your reply.
  12. Pertaining forum signatures; you may link to sites outside OSXL (except TMX) but keep it to the point. It's better to add what Hackintosh gear you got. You can edit your signature by clicking on your forum name top right (when you're logged in of course) -> chose "My Settings" OR 1st "Edit Profile" (black top-right button) -> "Signature" (left sidebar).

*) SLAPPED = permanently banned by name, email and IP

That's it! Hopefully, we won't need more than that.

Ohh ya...

Our groups....

1. Crew = The top of the food chain, they control the site, services and are the ones who develop EDP, you can not apply to join the crew... you are selected.
2. VIP = People who donate (if you haven't been upgraded to VIP status, please contact a forum admin, or use osxlatitude.com/contact/ form)
4. The rest = you! smile.gif

    • Welcome to OSXL! We are looking for volunteers to join us!
      Welcome to OSXL! 😀
We, at OSXL, are a bunch of passionate Hackintoshers who have joined together for creating a community to drive learning, sharing and helping people interested in running Apple Mac software or tinkering with it on non-Apple hardware. We do research and development on a voluntary basis in our free time.
Since its inception in 2010, our team evolved with people joining and going for all sorts of reasons. Nevertheless, this team brought out some of the best people who contributed to making the Hackintosh community progress. Unlike some other players, we’re very proud to we have consistently offered an ad-free website without calling for financial support, except on very rare occasions, and also made one of the best looking sites.😍
Back in the days, we also designed our "EDP" project to provide a common OS X installation package and a unified post-installation tool. EDP basically offered a central hub for system tuning. The project went through several phase and the latest one is currently Work In Progress. We also completed some research work and developed drivers, fixes and patches for some hardware.
We recently revamped our site to a more modern look and implemented latest security features so to give our members an improvise quality of experience.
Also, we are looking to expand for diversifying the content on our site not only to Apple OS, but also Linux, Android and Windows in the very near future with research and development as tech industry has changed a lot recent years and there is so much we can do in other areas and be relevant to what we do.
We are looking for passionate and dedicated people who can invest time and efforts in our community on projects like EDP and many others.
Drop us a line here in comments or through PM if interested so that we can chat about motivation, skills and ideas.
You can find our crew list here if you would like to PM instead: OSXL Crew
