It is possible to install Big Sur on a E6530 laptop?

ANYHOW... it installed to an external drive. IS this build stable enough for regular work? This is my experimental machine...

These are the boot args right now: keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 -v -igfxvesa vsmcgen=1 I am at the install screen... Are all of the above boot args required?

It still hangs at that same place in the boot process... No change even with that boot arg...

would there be any particular reason why the USB drive no longer appears in the custom boot menu as a boot option? Is there some method to "bless" the USB drive so the computer sees it as bootable?

... exactly how do you do that in OpenCore... at the boot screen in Clover you could tap the space bar and get options... I am getting a purely text list of boot disk in OpenCore... not disk icons...

The Brightness slider has "disappeared" Not sure what this means. Kexts and clover all are up to date.

These are the various files that are needed... It is actually called usbmap.kext not usb ports. And there were patches in the ACPI folder that the utility created. Another expert might want to examine these files to proof it. EFI.zip

Jake : Followed the process contained in https://floppyblog.com/common-problems-and-workarounds-in-hackintosh/ to fix the USB port, Internal WebCam, and related USB issues... This method worked with this E6530, but you need to create a USBport.kext regardless of the python script indicating that you don't need to.

How does one set 0x0 in Hackintool? I see the setting, but cannot edit the setting. I just edited the plist in USBports.kext... Was that the right spot? ... That did not work...

I have gotten the USB ports working properly... BUT the internal Webcam still is not working. It used to appear in System Report and in Hackintool (using usbinjectall) But no longer... Not quite sure what I missed... EFI files are attached... EFI.zip

This is for Catalina... Do we still use AppleAHCIPort.kext and AHCIPortInjector.kext? Or are these kext superseded by something else?

I followed your directions. Got the USB drives working with USBport.kext and no port limit patches I have all four standard USB ports working, BUT the internal webcam is not appearing at all

I cannot figure out how to get hackintool to work properly. Is there a simple tutorial about this? Cannot determine what patches to check off in the Bootloader menu. Will the E6530 have 15 usb ports as it only has 4 on the outside and an unknown amount internally.

There are issues updating to Beta 8... System seems to hang when booting from the OS Install Drive that's created on the HD... Somewhere when it hits broadcom kext...

The battery indicator does not tell me the correct charge and the machine shuts down without warning... is there a way to fix this?

With the latest developer beta, Bluetooth seems to be working now i paired a speaker and could not before will try other devices anyone else notice this?
