Upgraded to Clover with my E6230... downloaded High Sierra used this command /Applications/"Install macOS High Sierra.app"/Contents/Resources/startosinstall --converttoapfs NO --agreetolicense because didn't want my HD to convert to the new format AND because a previous attempt on my E6530 trashed the HD... ____ The machine rebooted... and everything went well.. Now I have a nice little High Sierra machine... Had to run permission.sh to clean up cache and prelinked kernel... Had to reboot a few times for audio BUT everything works now...

Finally determined that the upgrade didn't really work... ______ Unsure about what to do...

Installed to a 2nd DX58so board... Still having the problems with the config.plist... when i reuse the one from the 1st machine it boots all the way up... BUT when i change the SMBIOS to reflect a different serial number, it goes into an endless boot loop. Never gets to desktop. Have to boot with the Clover CD to get into the machine...

Put together a D975XBX2 build. Works when booting from the CD.. BUT hangs at ACPI: Sleep States What do I do? Can get it up and running while booting from cd (no sound, no ethernet)... So I can adjust config.plist...

I ended up using Clover Configurator and modified it step by step... It works with modifications now... The question is whether the current file has all the correct options selected... I didn't modify much from the config.plist file from the Clover boot cd... Everything works now... I had heard that the DX58so board has power management issues... Does this mean that sleep is an issue?

I have installed OS X Sierra to my older DX58so system. I have graphics working, audio working, and ethernet working. BUT the config.plist file does not like modifications. I do not know what is wrong with the file. It is the one from the clover boot CD... Need to know what to change to make the config.plist file work with this machine... this file "works" but does not whenever I modify stuff... config.plist.zip

which kext are the trackpad extensions? I have VoodooPS2Controller-R6B6.kext Is this what should be put into Library/extensions...

Had been using my E6530 for awhile... Not a problem with the trackpad. Over past two weeks, OS X seemingly not detecting trackpad. In diagnostic mode, trackpad works. It goes on and off... Now trackpad seems intermittent... What do I need to do? I did replace the keyboard and the network card...

are you using FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kext ? I removed this kext and things went more smoothly...

yes... but "latitude" does not appear in the Clover Preference Pane Theme drop menu...

it is a Latitude theme... not Inspiron...

it is a Latitude theme... in the Generic Bootpacks in the Themes folder... there is an Latitude Folder... Puts a Dell Latitude graphic for the Clover boot selection...

How do I select the Inspiron theme... It does not appear in the Clover Preference Pane Theme drop menu... Typing "Inspiron" does not work...

FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kext is the culprit... interferes with booting...

did a clean install of 10.12.3 did not install clover or created EFI on HD then installed 10.12.4 combo on top The same issue as above appeared... so its something with boot...

would it be "easier" if I just do a clean install and migrate from this HD?

same thing happens regardless if I boot from the USB or the SSD... same hanging same messages then black Apple Logo screen with blank progress bar.

updated Clover... did not change anything... This is what I am getting right before I get the Apple Logo Screen Then the computer hangs forever...

I had -v in config.sys already... We had a whole slew of text, then the apple logo appears, and the progress bar does not complete... Tried without -v We got an apple logo with progress bar that does not complete... Was going to do a clean install and use system migrator to transfer my information... DOES it make a difference if you use the combo update vs software update... I have used both methods for a while...

Not using a patched kernel... So repair the disk and try to reboot?

What had been anyone's experience with an E6530 and the Dell Dock? What ports are active? What Display ports can be used?
