  1. On one computer I have, after the line IOConsoleUsers: gIOScreenLockState 3, hs 0, bs 0, now 0, sm 0x0, my screen will go black (not turn off, it'll just be black) if I attempt to boot High Sierra or later. I've tested High Sierra, Catalina, and Big Sur, they all have this behaviour. For all of them, this is macOS recovery, I can't test the actual OS since I can't install it. I've tested El Capitan and Sierra, they both work fine, and I currently have Sierra installed. Is anyone aware of a solution? Specs - MSI P55A-G55, Intel Core i5-750, 1x8GB 1666MHz ADATA DDR3, PowerColour Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB, Western Digital Black 1TB 7200RPM, Realtek ALC892, Realtek RTL8168D/8111D EFI.zip
  2. I've just noticed that my ethernet isn't working on my ThinkPad T480s either, which has the same Intel I219-LM ethernet chipset as the EliteBook 840 G3, now this is beginning to seem like a bug in IntelMausi.
  3. Ethernet does not work on my EliteBook 840 G3, it shows up in settings but nothing happens when I connect an ethernet cable. Is anyone aware of a fix? I have Intel I219-LM for ethernet. config.plist is attached (cant upload full efi due to file size limit) config.plist.zip
  4. This just seems to be an OpenCore/Big Sur issue, you can either switch to Clover like Hervé suggested, or if you wish to continue using OpenCore, downgrading to Catalina fixed the issue for me.
  5. On my MSI P55A-G55 based system running Sierra, I'm unable to reboot. When I press reboot, my screen turns off but the rest of the computer stays on, and I have to press the reboot button on my case to reboot. Is anyone aware of a fix? Here's my EFI - https://files.catbox.moe/wruvv3.zip Specs: MSI P55A-G55, Intel Core i5-750, 1x8GB 1666MHz ADATA DDR3 RAM, PowerColor Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB, 2x500GB Seagate Barracuda 3.5" 7200RPM, macOS 10.12.6 Sierra, Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit
  6. It turns out it was an issue with OpenCore, the LapicKernelPanic quirk was broken on Lion, I reported it on acidanthera's bugtracker, and it should be fixed in OpenCore 0.9.4, for now I'm using a dev build of 0.9.4 that has LapicKernelPanic fixed, and while after that I was able to get Mac OS X installed, the 4500MHD kext didn't work, which isn't surprising, if it was possible someone would've already done it by now. At least I now have a mostly working EFI for this system if someone else who is interested in legacy hackintoshing manages to get the 4500MHD working.
  7. I don't think thats the issue, as I tested with Snow Leopard before, and I got the same panic.
  8. It was on the r/hackintosh Discord server, they didn't really explain how they made the kext, they just pinged me asking if I had a system with a GMA 4500MHD, and they explained to me that he made this kext however due to issues with Lenovo or something he couldn't install Mac OS X so he wanted me to test. And people do still work with this legacy hardware for fun, it's the same reason that someone made an iOS 5 jailbreak this year and the same reason that there's a modern web browser for Windows XP, people just want to try to make it work as a fun project.
  9. I'm helping someone test a kext for OpenCore that's supposed to bring GMA 4500MHD support with full QE/CI to Lion, they said they got the installer to boot on a Lenovo system however they couldn't install due to some issue with that computer, so they wanted me to test on my Pavilion dv6-1245dx, however trying to boot it, I get a panic on "IOAPIC: Version 0x20 Vectors 64:87)". It looks like an ACPI related panic? The 4500MHD kext is designed for OpenCore, so I am unable to use Clover or Chameleon. Screenshot and EFI are attached. Specs: HP Pavilion dv6-1245dx, Intel Pentium T4500 (this is a Penryn CPU, idk if it requires a spoof or not), 2x2GB DDR2 RAM (forgot the speed and brand), Intel GMA 4500MHD, 320GB 5400RPM Hitachi HDD, Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 64-bit (trying to install Mac OS X 10.7.5 Lion) yes i'm aware MacBook3,1 is the wrong SMBIOS for this hardware, it's currently set as that since I just modified my Latitude D630's EFI to work with this, I will fix that after I make this post, however I don't believe it's the cause of the panic.EFI.7z
  10. another update - I need to use my USB drive to boot now that Mac OS X is installed. trying to boot off of HDD hangs on boot0: done. I didn't wipe the drive so I'm assuming some OpenCore files are still there and causing a conflict.
  11. Update - Had to use myHack 3.1.2 (or whatever version is typically used for Snow Leopard), ig that version was needed on Lion too
  12. So, I want to go back to using OSXLatitude's bootpack, I don't want to but it's my only choice for Lion, no matter what I do, I get a panic with OpenCore (something related to AppleIntelGMAX3100), however, now Chameleon isn't booting either. It just hangs on "boot0: done" when trying to boot the USB. I made the USB using MyHack 3.3.1 (and thats how I applied the extra folder too). I can boot the MyHack USB via OpenCore, however after the verbose (I have -v in opencore's bootargs) it just hangs on a white screen.
  13. The panic wasn't being caused by Lilu at all -- for whatever reason, I had to set Kernel -> Scheme -> KernelCache to Mkext, also, according to someone on r/hackintosh's Discord server, MacBook3,1 is the correct SMBIOS for a Merom/GMA X3100 system.
  14. Well, I did manage to make progress, I got Snow Leopard working with OpenCore, I gave up on Lion, the GMA X3100 just was not playing nicely with Lion and it's driver kept giving me kernel panics before I could get to the installer, despite Snow Leopard installing, actually using it isn't all that great, because a few minutes after boot, it usually panics. It doesn't always panic, but it does most of the time, so you just have to keep rebooting until you get an instance that works, which is quite annoying when you don't have a power button and need to clear CMOS every time you want to reboot. I have a photo of the panic attached. Also, You can still do basic web browsing on old Mac OS X. For Lion-Sierra, there's Chromium legacy, a fork of modern Chromium that can load any modern-day website with no issue, and for Snow Leopard, there's Arctic Fox, which isn't 100% in terms of it's site compatibility, however most sites will work. I believe it's based on pale moon, if you've ever used that.
  15. Specs: CPU: Intel Core i3-7100 GPU: Intel HD Graphics 630 RAM: 8GB Micron DDR4 Model: Acer Aspire TC-780-AM11 Audio: Realtek ALC662 Ethernet: Realtek RTL8168/8111 Wifi/Bluetooth: Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168 Things currently not working: VGA port Bluetooth Bluetooth has been fixed in v1.1.1 Sleep (system kernel panics when waking from sleep, even after disabling hibernation) Possibly SD Card reader (can't test, the SD card reader is broken on mine) Set BIOS settings: Authentication -> Secure Boot -> Disabled Boot Options -> Launch CSM -> Never How to install: Put macOS on a USB using the Dortania guide, get the latest release of my EFI from GitHub, then grab GenSMBIOS and ProperTree, open the config.plist in ProperTree and go to PlatformInfo -> Generic, then open GenSMBIOS, in GenSMBIOS press 1 then enter, then press 3 then enter, then type "iMac18,1 1", press enter, then copy the Serial from GenSMBIOS to SystemSerialNumber in config.plist, copy Board Serial to MLB, copy SmUUID to SystemUUID, and copy Apple ROM to ROM. Afterwards, save the config.plist then copy the EFI folder to your USB. Plug your USB into your Aspire TC-780 and boot to it, there will be a boot option with one of the following names, select it. If it does not show up, press the space bar. macOS Base System (External) Install macOS Ventura (External) USB drive name (External) Afterwards, format your internal drive as APFS in Disk Utility and install macOS as normal. After it's installed, follow this guide to boot macOS without your USB drive. Enjoy macOS! Screenshot: This is my first guide here, so apologies if I made any mistakes!
  16. I don't like using prebuilt EFIs, because I don't feel happy from successfully setting up Mac OS X because someone else did all the work for me, so I don't want to use OSXLatitude's bootpacks for Chameleon, and I want to use something that's still actively supported and getting updates, so that limits me to Clover and OpenCore, and I've heard that Clover is extremely difficult to set up, especially compared to OpenCore, and there's no reason to be using it, plus in the other place I get help (r/hackintosh's Discord server), it's basically impossible to get help with Clover, if I had a nickel for every time someone has asked a Clover user "Why are you using Clover instead of OpenCore?", I'd have enough money for a brand new MacBook Air.
  17. I've already hackintoshed my D630 using myHack + the bootpack that someone here provided me, however for several reasons, I want to switch to using my own OpenCore EFI, and it boots using a 64-bit kernel, but GMA graphics need a 32 bit kernel, however when I try enabling the 32-bit kernel, it just panics during boot. Someone in the r/hackintosh Discord server suggested trying a 32-bit userspace too, however that would hang on "IntelMemory : : init". I've attached my EFI and a screenshot of the panic. EFI.zip
  18. I did that instead - I used the 10.6.7 ISO I got from the Internet Archive, it worked fine. Am I safe to update to 10.6.8? Also -- Wi-Fi isn't working. As mentioned earlier, I'm using the DW1395. Is there a way to make that work?
  19. I have done both steps, built the USB installer with myHack using a 10.7.5 VM, then copy the bootpack (this is the folder called "Extra", right?) to the USB drive. My D630 has a Core 2 Duo T7250.
  20. Well, it seems to not be an issue with 10.6.7, as I tried 10.7.5 (with the 10.7.5 pack) and it's showing similar behaviour to Snow Leopard, except instead of hanging on the C-State thing after the first reboot, it panics on the C-State thing in the installer. I got Snow Leopard from the Internet Archive, and Lion from Apple. Would you have any ideas on how to fix that?
  21. I tried Lion, and the installer panicked at the same place Snow Leopard would hang. Not sure if this could be an issue, but my D630 doesn't have a keyboard, I removed it because it was broken and was causing random shutdowns (assuming it was somehow shorting the laptop)
  22. Doing those bootargs gives the same result, as I mentioned in my last message (you might've missed it), I believe it's a problem with the fact the pack is designed for 10.6.8 and I'm using 10.6.7, I'm going to either need to find a way to upgrade my USB to 10.6.8 without myHack (I no longer have access to it since I wiped the weird Snow Leopard distro I used just for myHack, I now only have access to Catalina and later which myHack doesn't work on), or I'm going to need to modify the pack to work on 10.6.7 Edit - Setting up a 10.7 VM to make a 10.6.8 myHack USB Edit 2 - can't figure out where to find a bootable 10.6.8 dmg -- doing Lion instead
