Hey, I installed Mavericks on my D630 successfully. Can someone please help me on how do i install the supplied broadcom wifi card with this laptop. Is there a specific kext to install the wifi drivers for this card?
Thank You
run Terminal command lspci -nn to display the vendor/device ID of your wifi card.
Not all Broadcom cards are supported. Click on Wireless Card in my signature to find a list of supported/unsupported cards.

Thank you for the guide.
I don't use the nvidia card anymore. Was able to disable it with DSDT and use HD 3000 graphics instead. This allows sleep and power management. If you want to try, click on E6520 on my signature below. No issue upgrading to 10.9.4
Advantage: Sleep and battery last a bit longer and not heat up
Disadvantage: No HDMI video/Audio -
I don't know if the Nvidia GTX645 is supported, but the IGPU is. It has the Intel HD 4600. See my guide to get started.

Thank you very much, Jake Lo.
It worked, but, unfortunately, it broke the sleep function, as you mentioned.
Now I read the cards, but if I close the lid, after a while, the system doesn't resume anymore.
I have to force the system to switch off.
I think that, for a laptop, it's more important the sleep function than reading the SD/MMC cards.
Place the kext in another directory. When you need it, just run kextload and kextunload when you're done.
Have not tested it, but should work.

Hi bobdamnit,
would it be sufficient to use the extra from the latitude 5520 from the compatibility list plus the ssdt file that hervé attached?
at least to start with.
Plus the dsdt from here:
because my notebook has this resolution?
Please advise
Madmax
Try this boot pack. Included Herve's ssdt, and added dualLink to the EDP DSDT.
Build your installer with my hack. Once finish, launch myHack again and select install Extra. Point to this folder and select your Installer as the Destination.

Hmm...strange. I double checked my thumb drive and NullCPUPowerManagement kext was in the extras folder. Does it need to be in the extensions folder within the Extras folder? I tried that as well (ran a myFix quick) but it failed in the exact same spot.
Am I doing something wrong setting up my thumb drive? I followed they myHack steps exactly. The only thing that never works is the Extras installation. MyHack completes successfully but never prompts for extras installation. I have to manually run myHack again and then select install Extra (I also made sure to run myHack from the Applications folder). I then physically copied the NullCPUPowerManagement kext to the extras folder. I also made sure to disable all the virtualization tech in the bios as mentioned earlier. But, I can't seem to get it to load past this point...
It needs to be in Extra/Extensions. Run my fix (quick) once again.

Ok so tonight I removed the AICPUPM kext and tried booting but I got the following error:
Not sure where that leaves me. I did run a myFix quick on my thumb drive after removing AICPUPM kext so not sure if that had something to do with it?
You need to add NullCPUPowerManagement.

Hi all,
I successfully made a "Near Vanilla" Mavericks installation with Clover on a E6330 with I7-3540, Wifi and Bluetooth, following the Guide of pokenguyen.
The only thing missing is the O2Micro OZ600F/OZ900F Integrated MMC/SD controller (Card Reader). No kext found so far.
Any help?
Thanks in advance.
Babar
See here. Be warned, it might break sleep.

So, I have an E7440 with the 1366x768 display and a swapped out WiFi card (the BCM4352 Azurewave AW0CE123H). I have the 2.4 GHz portion working, but no BT and 5 GHz. I'm not too worried about that at the moment.
Something that I haven't figured out is why audio is not working. I see references to it in System Preferences, but nothing under Sound.
I've followed all steps and I've tried a few reinstalls, in the correct order, but no luck. I can supply various files. Just let me know.
I also triple-boot via EFI to Ubuntu 14.04 and Windows 7.
Did you use kextwizard to install the patched AppleHDA to SLE?
-
That's good to know that I'm not the only one. Honestly I would rather wait until 10.9.4 is considered stable w/ new graphics kexts, or even wait for 10.9.5 rather than having to download Mavericks ver. 10.9.3 and do it all again.
What is the easiest way to tell which WiFi module I have? I no longer have Windows installed and the BIOS doesn't seem to give me anything.
FYI Ethernet and sleep seem to be working OK.
Download and run DPCIManager, look under PCI list.

Installed my wifi card (dw1510). Works well under Windows and OSX. Only ? is that under Windows, the wifi light is on (blue) and under OSX, it does not show. Wifi is working but no light. Any reason why ?
That's a know issue for any wireless card in Hackintosh.

thank you, i already have original OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 from Appstore, but it said bootable USB for Intel PCs thats why asked....will mine work with myHack ?
Yes, just follow the guide to create the installer. Any version of Mavericks is fine.
-
thanks for the info but where can i find OS X Mavericks 10.9.4 bootable USB for Intel PCs, googled and not able to find any working links/torrents...i would be really helpful if u give me the links here or just PM me, thank you
Get it at Appstore, it's free. Then use myHack to create a bootable installer.

@pokenguyen
Is there an ideal BIOS version? I want to know before I update. What BIOS ver. are you using? I am on A04. Have not attempted to install OS X yet.
I don't think Pokenguyen owns an E7440. I have both E7240 and E7440 with latest BIOS A08
-
I don't think version matters, I've used 12.10 and 13.04, both without issue. Latest version is 14.04.

Thanks to all the teams osxlatitude to made this happen, and Jake Lo for his great guide details how to running with E7x40.
I've updated the 10.9.3 to 10.9.4 with evertyhing went well, the machine can boot without issue. but had some weird artifacts on the menubar as Jake mentioned on his guide then again I replaced with AppleIntelFramebufferAzul.kext from 10.9.2. The artifacrts is gone but seems that QE/CI is no longer working.
A better choice is to use 10.9.1 FB, HDMI won't hang the system when you plug it in, but that only works well on OSX 10.9.3 and 10.9.2. Like you said, you lose QE/CI on 10.9.4 if you rollback FB. A workaround for now is go to display preference, under color, use sRGB profile or select one by one until you get one without artifacts.

Hi Jake,
Thanks once again. I now have audio and multitouch on the trackpad. I only have two finger multitouch and it doesn't do pinch zoom or rotate. I'm assuming that's the best it can get. If so, I'm v happy with that.
Next for wifi. I assume I need a DW1510. I'd be grateful if you'd let me know if that's right.
Is there a difference between Broadcom and Dell?
Thanks v much
John
Yes, 2 fingers or side scrolling only. You could also scroll using trackstick with the middle mouse like on Windows.
DW1510 is what I have. It has a Broadcom chipset which works out of the box. But beware, not all Broadcom chipsets are supported. Click on wireless_cards on my signature below for list of supported/unsupported cards and some USB devices too.

Which command did you run to get this error?
I just went through the entire guide without any error. -
Thanks. But I want to use MBR and I can't method how to apply MBR patch correctly to MyHack (link in that thread links to totally different method, I can't use it as I need to use downloaded patch for my laptop).
Any idea how to use MyHack on this laptop along with Windows (as I can't work on Mac (I'm .NET developer) I can't ditch Windows) ?
You can boot both OS's on GUID format assuming Win7 64 bit and above. Read more on how to do it here.

I have stock Dell E6440 with 900p screen.
With default MacOSX (myHack or any other boot loader) I can't get into setup screen (just reboots due to Haswell CPU), I've found bootpack for E5440 and I've changed CPU from i7 to i5 (found on forum), now Dell start up to setup screen (with DVD removed and only from hard drive) but when I want to install OS I got
"The OS X installation couldn't be completed" and along with it panic(CPU 2 caller).
I've tried almost everything what I managed to find but no luck.
Any has similar laptop and managed to install Mac on it ???
I've attached screen of errors :/
Rebuild your Installer, when you get the prompt to patch MBR, select NO.
You can also look at this if you don't want to rebuild the installer or if you want to use MBR.

how kext using? dsdt? and how to disable ati?
create bootable usb with myhack or other program?
Can it be disable in the BIOS?
Yes, build your Installer with myHack using just the generic Extra included.
Once done, use Chameleon Wizard and generic a smbios.plist for MacBook Pro 8.1
Boot with verbose switch -v
We'll create a DSDT/SSDT once you got a booted system.
Post any status here after you got some progress...

specs my laptop:
CPU: Intel® Core™ i3-3110M Processor (3M Cache, 2.40 GHz
Chipset: HM75 Express
GPU: AMD 8670m + Intel hd 4000
Ram: 4GB DDR3 1600
I know that the graphics card is not supported (amd 8670m), but I have read that I can only use integrated utilization and disable another...? is can install os x on this machine?
HD 4000 is fully supported so I don't why it won't be hackable.

Hi Jake,Thanks v much for your advice.I followed your guide (https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/5641-dell-latitude-e6430-e6230-intel-mavericks/&do=findComment&comment=29303). I used the Extra folder suggested on this page. I also used a different USB stick (the original one worked on one Dell laptop (the one I didn't want to hack), but didn't work on the E6530).Now I have OSX Mavericks on the E6530. Thank you.I don't yet have audio or multi touch. Do you reccommend that I do a post-instllation EDP? Or should I be doing patches from EMlyDinEsH like in your guide? Many thanksJohn
On my signature file below, click on Exx30_Touchpad and Exx30_AppleHDA. Put these 2 kexts in Extra/Extensions, remove ApplePS2Controller. Add HDAEnabler=Yes to boot.plist. Run my fix (quick). You should have audio and touchpad capabilities.

Manually add this to org.chameleon.boot.plist
or use Chameleon Wizard
