Hi After an successful installation of Mavericks on my Dell Latitude D830 I have another challenge. I got my hands on an Dell Precision 490 with one Xenon CPU, 8 GB internal memory and an Nvidia graphics card inside and i was curious if OSX 10.9 can run on it and if there was an guide for this beautiful machine..??? I am aware that you need specification for this beautiful machine. But the problem is: there is no OSX software installed on this machine to give you information about the specs of this machine Is there an tooling software which I can use to provide you these specs? if so, i can use this software so i can get the information. Finale I have mavericks werking on my D830 nvidia after I used the new myhack 3.3 version and the EDP package for mavericks 10.9 Booting now goeswell and without any delay, one little thing is not working and that is I have no. sound on my laptop sometimes the sound icon is grey out sometimes he is black and you can toggle between the loudness but I have no. sound !! How can I make the sound card active on my laptop ? Greets..

Hi Option above doesn't work sadly.. Procedure installing Mavericks is: 1:Clean install with MyHack usb with bootpack D830 nvidia included. OK 2:Boot from usb to startup Mavericks OK.. 3: Installing usb wireless card for internet access OK.. 4: EDP package for D830 nvidia downloaded and installed OK 5: Chameleon wizard startup used another one as i had in the first place ( now working ) and update Chameleon version to 2263 OK.. [[ I activated button Update and also activate button lower --update more bootloader witch is standard NOT activated -- OK.. 6: Reboot now the laptop with no usb stick Myhack attached to it. NOT OK error message shown Can find file.. press a key to continue.. Nothing happens.. When i press spacebar and boot with -x -v flags i see error message appear left upper side mach-0 file has bad magic.. I switched yesterday evening the Samsung 320GB HD into in OCZ SSD with 240 GB size. This SSD i was using recently on my hackingtosh desktop installed with Mountain Lion and worked perfectly.. So this one is also OK.. Question remains:: Why can i cannot boot up the Mavericks software??? I see also that when the laptop startup with flags -v -x in the left upper side KernelCache ignored stated while when i boot from usb Myhack stick is shown Kernel Cached loaded .. Perhaps this has some thing to do with it?

I tried several options but as soon as I install the EDP package after reboot error is shown can't find file an clicking further the mach-o-file has bad m gic nummer error is seen. Laptop won't boot anymore. I have not found any solutions for this. Not replacing boot file. Or installing chameleon ver. 2265 won't help.. Does anyone has an solutions for this? I am running out of options?

Hi i tried yesterday the last option you mentioned. Copy BOOT file from usb stick and copy and overwrite BOOT file located on the laptop. No luck same error i will try today option 1 ( update Chameleon ) and see what happens then.. regards,

Hi, It isn't the fact about creating an internet connection but the way of working how to upgrade the version of Chameleon. That is something i need to known for now and for the next time...

Thanks, i download Chameleon Wizard but when i tried to upgrade the chameleon version , error message popup cannot find server.. What am i doing wrong? or what is the procedure about upgrade to higher version of Chameleon ? This step is holding me up to get an working mavericks on my D830. With regards.

Ok thanks for the quick response I will create an new usb boot stick and I will check the hard drive for failures To be continued.. ( personally i do not think this is the problem ) because after the installation i can boot normally ( with use of the usb stick ) and load mavericks normally.

Hi I am facing an issue while installing new OS X 10.9 Mavericks on my D830 laptop ( nvidia videocard) inside. I created an myhack usb stick with mavericks on it an the EXTRA files for my D830. The installation goes smoothly, I reboot and with help of the usb stick i can startup the laptop configure the last settings and i am on the desktop.. Then i install an wireless card so i can download the EDP software to configure my laptop with the necessary kext to load all my internal hardware. I performed using myhack an MyFix ans also using diskutil checked the permissions on the disk.. One minor error is found and repaired. After that i restart laptop and looking to an grey X startup screen then it stops and error popup Can 'f find and press any to continue an i am back to the grey starup screen When i tried several options -V -X -F i see error message about mach-0 file has bad magic number. I think it has to do with the bootloader however i do not known how to solve this.. Anyone else can help me out ? Once this is done i have it all working Thanks..

Hi Herve I am struggeling with the boootloader, I cannot make it work to start mavericks without the usb stick ?? I tried to install the boootloader wwithin myhack and run myfix complete afterwards, I tried to install another bootloader without succes.. I am running out of options. Can you help me out with this one ? What did you do to make it work?? I did not install the EDP package yet Is that the solutions? I hope to here from you.

Sorry just an newbie.. i use myhack 3.2 to create the usb stick and as included my laptop desktop the os x maverick file I have done this several times with Lion and Mountain Lion but for some reasons i cannot get this to work perhaps the screen shot explans more..

I have an GM version of Mavericks wich dispayed an X when i open this DMG file with the message ( install OS X MAVERICKS ) When i use this one for creating an usb stick i get an error Selection does not appear te be an valid OS X installation source ?? I used this version with my Mac Pro and it worked. Can you tell me wich version i must use or what an i doing wrong? Thanks.

Hi Herve nice work. Do you need any specific version of Mavericks GM and just double click and install it ?? I have the preview 8 version working on my D830 so i am curious how to install the GM version on my laptop.

Can someone give me some advice witch tool i must use to provide me and you all details of the inside of this wonderfull machine? So the hard core guys of this forum can see if this desktop can run ML or even Mavericks I am running W8 on it now with an mountail lion virtual machine inside. Thanks for your advice..

Hi due to the fact that on the desktop ML is running in an virtual envirmenent and basicly (for now) on Window8 i was not able to create the hardware inventory However i created an inventory file in windows i hope this also will do the job. See attachment.

Hi this desktop has no osx operating System working. The machine works with Windows 8 and an virtual mountain lion inside I Will try to execute the command's in the virtual environment and see what happens Thanks.

I have one partion made with guid partition not mbr and formatted IT with Mac os uitgebreid journalen i think that is not the problem. It has to do with the bootloader . I Will try the suggestion of bronxteck

Thanks i selected the HD drive but when i install chameleon after i installed mavericks from Myhack duiding the installation i see flushing boot sector installing disk loader Error could not find valid partition table on device /dev/disk0 Unable to flag active partition installing partition loader verfying partition loader partion loader verified mounting /dev/diskos2 I do not Known how to install the latest chameleon version ?.... Once i can install the bootloader correctly i proparbly can boot mavericks But what is the correct way to do this.?
