  1. Today starts a New direction for EDP. No more fussing around. A simpler way to enjoy the benefits of EDP... but none of the heartaches.. OSXLATITUDE is proud to present "EDP 1.6 package Installer"... just a few clicks and Presto your ready to Rock...

So Please Enjoy... From All of Us at OSXLATITUDE To all of You

Guys, I can't believe how "on top of it" you continue to be! Thanks again!

  2. Greetings, just picked me up a D430 (bios A09) and I'm trying to install with the pen method that I've used successfully with my D620 and D630 Lappys. Soon after "MAC Framework successfully initialized"...I get "Using new IRQ layout O, 1" and it stays in that holding position. If I don't "v", the apple logo is in constant rotation. Any thoughts, many thanks in advance. Regards. ssprod

  3. Joe I did searched for Slice's bootloader but I dont know if he had released a complete workable solution. I am going to reinstall OSX today using this packageto see if there is any improvement. Will keep you guys posted.

Greetings, glad you're up and running with SL and the 830. Couldn't help but noticing that your issues along the way have been very similar to mine (D630 X3100). I tried this "slice" b.loader, and my system kp'd upon restart. Let me know how it works for you. Cheers. ssprod

  4. Greetings, with the help and gracious advice from the "heavyweights" here, I'm up and running with smiles on my D630-X3100 10.6.6. I've never implemented "Time Machine" on this unit, and I don't want to risk corrupting my install in any way, for obvious reasons. Has any1 had success/problems with T.Machine and 10.6.6? Kind Regards and Thanks. ssprod

  5. Thanks Leon, i'm trying this as we speak...wondering if it's ok to run the Live CD, instead of the USB pendrive? If so, everything seems to be executing properly until the very last command, when I get a response "Operation not supported" Running LSPI, My card is branded (0c:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4311 802.11b/g WLAN [14e4:4311] (rev 01))

----> Linux results of the re-branding are below. Thanks and Kind Regards. ssprod

  6. Greetings, I'd like to extend my compliments and thanks to the hard workers...they know who they are. Kudos to you boys! Testing RC6 with my D630 for the last hour. The only obvious issue at the the moment is the absence of Audio. Sys. Preferences does not acknowledge any device. Keep up the good work and testing! ssprod

  7. Update: Went back to Thund3's .aml, rebuilt, repaired permiss. via disk utility, and I'm up and running with all USB ports. Regards. ssprod

Update: New issues, severe trackpad erratic behaviour, jumpy and uncontrollable. When I replace with Mariusz's dsdt.aml, trackpad is normal in operation but 2xusb side ports are non-functional.

  8. Greetings Leon,

Appreciate the reply. I tried this one, but still to no avail. Wish I could figure this out. ssprod

  9. Greetings,

Using Thund3r's "Extra" package, i'm still testing my D630. The side usb ports don't function atm, however the back ones do. Ran UBUNTU Live, just to make sure USB was functioning, they all are. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Thank you. ssprod

  10. No worries man and ya sometimes taking a fresh run at something is better than trying when yer tired. I'm always better on a new day at stuff. I might be a little busy 2morrow cuz I got a few onsites but I'll try and take a look on the thread to see how yer makin out when I can.

    ^5

 Greetings..thanks for your patience, and efforts Thund3r, you were on the money with respect to my methodology. I have since "been corrected" and indeed, your "Extra" folder has resulted in a successful and happy :D install. Many thanks, once again, and I'll keep in touch! ssprod

  11. run the edptool one more time .. make sure you only rebuild though okay, don't do a new install. That sounds strangly like you reran the install? Also make sure you run repair permissions before rebooting. So .. just to recap.. and I know this works cuz its working for me: copy my pack, remove ioatafamily, edptool, rebuild from present config ONLY, repair permissions, reboot. -- that should do it bro. If you reran the build you might have the wrong voodoohda right now.If that's the case start over again by copying my pack to /extra again.... yer almost there

    :D

I'm gonna try this first thing tomorrow, it's been a long day in the world of OSX86. Your help is greatly appreciated Thund3bolt! I will report back. Hasta Manana! ssprod

  12. UPDATE: 10 minutes later----> Thund3r, I'm in the process of installation as I write this. The ONLY change I made, on your positive suggestion, was " -x ". That did the trick, for the time being anyways. I'll report back upon completion of the install. Thanks again! ssprod

After updating to 10.6.6, and copying Thund3r's Extra folder over, remove ioatafamily.kext (as requested), edp tool, reboot---> DVDRW is not recognized, no Audio presently. Bios is A017. Thanks. ssprod

  13. Hi Thund3r, thanks for your efforts here, most appreciated! I certainly don't want to use any distro, but I'm trying to get to the bottom of this issue, and i'm pulling at straws. I did set ata in the bios. Do my pictures look like I've created the pen correctly? Regards. ssprod

  14. Just got your messages and see you tried iFail rather than using original sl. Not something that anyone will be ever able to 100% support. I would rather we try to figure out why your pen install isn't working. Can you confirm if you have the sata operation set for AHCI or ATA in the bios? Please make sure you have it set for ata. I forgot to mention that mine was set for ata --- my bad but frankly probably didn't think it mattered.

If that still doesn't work. Please do a -v -x -s while booting and take a look at the kp message.

  15. So close but yet..

Tried iFail 10.6.3, installed with RC32bit and x3100 selected, upon completion-->restart system, everything looks and loads fine,"Dmos has arrived"---> blue screen for 1 second, then goes to black with welcome music, but no display.

  16. Greetings, still attempting to get to "first base" with my D630 X3100. Been using Thund3rbolt's newly released USB Pen method and for the life of me, it kp's almost immediately. I'm beginning to suspect that my method of install is not correct. When I use my original Boot132 D620 CD, it appears to get to 90%, then my display goes black. I've taken two shots, just to see what I'm doing (if at all) incorrectly. Thanks very much! ssprod

  17. Nope, do something else..

    edit your com.apple.boot.plist, and add:

    <key>Kernel Flags</key>

    <string>pmVersion=21</string>

If you allready have a kernel flag, just add the pmversion=21 to the string

.. just a question.. do you have nvidia or intel ?

Intel 945GM, again many thanks for the instructions! ssprod

  18. when you are on the chameleon boot screen, type:

    pmVersion=21

and then boot.. let me know if it works..

Man, when the OSX gods made you, they crowned you Prince Leon, thanks a million mate! Now, should I simply delete that kext? Sincerely ssprod

  19. Greetings , may have been too presumptuous in going to 10.6.6 on my D620 (A10), but I just k.p'd with "Kernel Extensions in backtrace (with dependencies): sk.triaxis.kext.SleepEnabler (10.5.5)@Ix1c63d000->0x1c63efff

Can I remove that kext without re-installing the OS? -s doesn't get me far enough before the kp. Thanks in advance! ssprod

  20. Just want to thank Leon for this great site, had problems with D620 not recognizing the DVD drive in Snow 10.6.4. Installed this package and voila! Unfortunately however, I've lost audio...any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks again.

my bad....forgot to repair permissions and clear cache. all is good, thanks very much! ssprod
