  1. Greetings.. muchos complementos to a beautifully designed site. Boyz you've come a long way! Problem, I decided to wipe my good ol' D630 Nvidia clean and do a new install. 10.8.3 Retail with MyHack as per method described in this forum. Upon completion, when I reboot with USB, install EDP, let it do it's thing.... The system will NOT boot on it's own. I must boot from the USB. What am I doing incorrectly? Thanks so much, and keep up this great work!!   ssprod

  2. iMick, yes I'll certainly do that, and thanks in advance. I suspect you're correct in assuming a non-complete download, as there is no org.chameleon.boot, nor DSDT, nor smbios. I'm up and running at the moment ONLY because I've copied these 3 files from the pertinent boot pack, from which I did the original installation.

  3. Greetings!! Haven't been around much, due to work overload, however thanks for the increased development...this site has really taken off! Just picked me up a D830 X3100 LoRes... Don't know if I'm doing something incorrectly, but I cannot get this puppy to boot to Lion10.7.2 on it's own. Here are my steps...

    1-Installed 10.7.2 via USBMyHack-used appropriate Extra Folder from Bootpack-SUCCESSFUL

2-Upon completion, boot from USBMyHack to complete install, registration, yada yada...SUCCESSFUL

3-Run Latest EDPweb... Choose appropriate build, wait till "DONE"... REBOOT

4-Chameleon (although apparently Updated-installed) will NOT boot without USBMyHack

5-Reading various posts on this site, I removed NVram in Extra Folder, as this has apparently caused issues

    6-Reboot--WILL NOT Boot with Chameleon

7-Boot from MYHackUSB successfully, and in desperation, install CHAMELEON SVN2.1 REV. 1684 from EDP2.2

    8-Result: KP on FakeSMC

I re-installed numerous times, with the same results, HOWEVER, occasionally, there is no smbios, or org.chameleon.plist in my Extra Folder after running latest EDP..other times, there is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.. THANKS!!

  4. Greetings! Successfully installed and upgraded to 10.8.2 from this great method, thank you. Although I'm able to run icloud, itunes, and sign into appstore, "iMessage" will not work. Has any1 experienced this issue... didn't try it with my initial 10.8.0, so don't know if it's pertinent to the 8.2 update. Thanks in advance, and kind regards.  ssprod

  5. Hi,

Older Apple USB Mouse (Trackpad gives me the same results). I use this mouse with my working D620 Lion system. Still trying to figure this headache out... Thanks.

Interesting... problem was rectified (and allowed me to complete the setup/install) by " -v arch=i386 cpus=1" (without quotes). Thanks.

  6. Greetings! Setup---> D620 Intel Graphics

Just bought this for my wife, attempting to install and setup Lion 10.72 via OSXLatitude method (boot pack--EDP). Install went successfully, but upon initial boot from USB, the setup page appears, but I'm unable to proceed, as the mouse freezes for 2 minutes, then resumes. I recall having this issue a couple of years ago when installing on my other D620, however my remedy back then was to boot in safe mode. That does not seem to rectify the issue at this moment. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much and Kind Regards. ssprod

  7. And did you unplug/replug the main battery?

Herve, yes. It looks like I'll need to replace the mobo. That said, will ANY D620/intelGPU based mobo work with my C2DUO CPU? Having difficulty identifying the actual part number of this board. Thanks! ssprod
  8. Hi,

My D620 has started behaving similarly. Sometimes, when I switch it on, the screen just stays black, even if I switch it off and back on again. I have to remove the battery and put it back to recover.

The 1st few times this happened, I had had really strange vertical lines followed by blur on the screen. I'm beginning to wonder if the nVidia card is on its way to die or what...

UPDATE: Unplugged the CMOS battery for 15 minutes, plugged it back in--> now upon powering up, power light is solid illuminated AND middle+right CAP Locks are flashing. Still black screen exists. ssprod

  9. well start by basic trouble shooting.... remove dvd rom remove hdd remove wifi, leave only one ram slot populated and start from there with ram testing and then swap ram and locations, if basic striped down machine still give you issues then your mobo might be bad or the bios might need recovery.

Hi Bronx, hope you're well! Thanks for the tip... tried what you've mentioned with the same results. How does one go about a bios recovery? Kind Regards. ssprod

  10. Dead ssprod,

Sounds like my macbook pro 4.1 that was fried by Lion and ML.

Try to remove the memory card and see if it can boot up.

    Cheers!

Memory card? I have removed the ram if that means anything. Other than that, not quite sure what you mean, thanks again. ssprod

  11. Dear ssprod,

    Can you get into bios?

    Cheers!

Hi Syonagar..Unfortunately not, when the power button is depressed, I get the power light and the DVD drive capstan engaged, but no display whatsoever. Thanks for your reply. ssprod

  12. Greetings-----> My D620 IntelGPU has been serving me wonderfully over the last 6 months with Lion10.7.4 presently. Yesterday all was good, today I turned it on, to find a completely black screen, can't get a display to the bios. Upon powering up, the CD capstan turns, but only the power light is on. The HD light does not flash, even intermittently. Tried booting with an external monitor, no positive results, just a black screen. Any thoughts, suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I fear however that this is a hardware (possible fried mobo) issue. Thanks! ssprod

  13. Hi!

I am (almost) glad to see this topic. I have the same machine, D630, n135m, 1440x900 and ever since I got it I never managed to install OS X (10.6, 10.7) on it: it boots, moves to GUI and the screen turns black. Whatever I tried failed. I'll dig it up from my pile and use the tips provided here to give it another try.

    Thanks,

    Gl.

Greetings, I did return your pm.. and will gladly send you my edited dsdt upon request.
