The way I fixed the same problem was installing with Kext Wizard the "ApplePS2ElanTouchpad" of this guide (I didn't check if it needed to be updated). Then, in the same Kext Wizard, repair permissions. Reboot and voilà ... Try this after you finish other kext installations and have restarted.

Thanks! I solved this by repairing permissions in disk utility. Also, a safer way to install kext is using Kext Wizard, I've tested now too.

You have to enable it at system preferences>trackpad

I've got a kernel panic after installing those kext with kext utility. Now I'm restoring using time machine. What did I do wrong? Every time I use kext utility I have a kernel panic.

Hi everyone! I've followed the guide on this thread and succesfully installed Mavericks on my Asus K55A. But I have a problem with the sound card, it doesn't work. Someone knows how to solve this issue? and does the Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 has a valid kext? Thanks in advance
