Thank you for your response. I selected different options in kext wizard, installed the kexts and i was able to boot normally. My graphics still don't work, and i read an article that had kexts that could make it work. I installed the kexts but no luck. Any suggestions?- 14 replies

Hello everyone, I did a standard myhack installation on my dell latitude e6400. I got through the installation fine, and I am able to boot in safe mode. However, I cannot boot without -x, so I am wondering what kexts I have to delete or install, or what boot flags I may have to put. Also, when I boot in safe mode, my graphics are stuck at a low resolution, so what kext do I need to install for graphics on the dell latitude e6400. I have intel gm45 graphics (that's what it says in about this Mac and bios.) I would much appreciate help. I used this guide: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/6123-dell-latitude-e6400-mavericks-installation/

I tried it without the patch but got the same error: Boot0 gpr and two other lines. This is the fourth time I remade the installer!

Ok, I will remake the installer without patch. Also, should I them change my USB partition to gpt or leave it on master boot record?

I came across another problem(and I have intel graphics). I tried to install on my other e6400 with myhack, and I followed a guide from this site. I installed with MBA patch because I am planning to dual boot. When I plug in my installer and boot, I get a boot0 gpt error, which is weird because this is the same installer that worked on my other e6400. I remade the installer, and got the same problem. I am also using a virtual machine to create this installer because I don't have a device with OS X. Is there any solution to this? I also installed extra for the e6400. Here is the guide I followed, and thank you for the responses! https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/6123-osx-mavericks-install-on-dell-latitude-e6400/

I remade the installer, followed another guide, and it worked. It turns out that I was using a unifail guide, but my friend wants to use the unifail way, but he also got the same problem as me, not being able to follow that last step. Can you explain how to do this the unifail way because my friends dad won't let him get an account. Thanks anyway for the help!

Hello, i am installing os x mavericks on my dell latitude e6400. I followed a guide, and it used myhack. Before, i could not get to the installer, but the guide told me to copy dsdt.aml, and some other kexts to my usb which got me to the install screen without any boot flags. I successfully installed, and the last part of the guide said this: "Once you installed maverick, the same files you added to the USB installation , go ahead and add them to your system HDD. Assuming you already know you need a working mac to accomplish this. You might need to connect the harddrive where you installed Mavericks to a working Mac using a USB adapter or else. Be creative. Follow the same steps. " I did not know how to do this, so i ignored it. I tried to boot, i got stuck in the same place i was before copying the files to the usb. Can anyone help me follow this last part because to create myhack, i used a virtual machine, and i dont knnow if a virtual machine would work in this case. Although, i know that this is the step that didn't get my comp to boot. I appreciate your help because i have been trying this for half a year with no luck.
