I have to ask the smart guys here because I know with so many Non Macs in use someone knows the best answer. What is the correct "visual" mapping for most "Windumz" keyboards to the correct Mac keys? I have googlifed searched this with no real success. So that is why I ask the brainiacs here!

No problem Herve' Nope to your question though as I am only using 10.8.x version(s) of OSX. It would probably work with Lion. But I could be wrong because I do know that the Airport Extreme AR5BXB6 full height card that I was using before with 10.7.x in my E6520 quit working and made it stop booting up (literally) until I removed it when trying to upgrade to 10.8.3. So I don't know for sure if it would work..... I can verify that it works in my Daughters D830. The card does show up as "unknown" in system info and like apps, but is functional. I replaced the card that was in it (Intel Model:WM3945ABG MOW1 - Dell P/N: 0NC293) with the 450 and it works great! The D830 even has 3 antenna leads!

I bought one of these 450M Apple AirPort Extreme Atheros AR5BXB112 AR9380 N card and I paid about 20 dollars US shipped. Now that are listed for 13.19 shipped from China. The card is a full PCI-e mini card but it still worked without issue and OOB in my Dell Latitude E6520 with a little packing tape to help hold it in the slot securely. I bought two more at the new price. I am putting one in my daughters D830 so that she can use wireless going forward I recommend you pick one up for your hackbook/tosh because this airport card can run at blazing fast speeds compared to other cards.

Well I figured it out on my own. I ran MyHack and used Igashu's Extras and that reverted my system to a functioning unit. My mouse/track pad is now working again. I did experience a period of flashing white desktop that forced me to power cycle the unit but upon reboot the system booted normally and everything is working now. I will need to run chameleon wizard again to add my favorite boot theme back but all is well in spazzVille again.

Help I installed the latest EDP on my e6520 and and then when I rebooted it just booted to a gray screen with the OSXLatitude logo, I had to power cycle the machine and then boot with the -v and GraphicsEnable=No switch to boot up. Then I discovered my mouse pad was no longer working. How can I roll the EDP back and fix this?

As an update I recently updated my 6520s BIOS to the most current release A17 and everything appears to be working perfectly. I will be trying to test as much functionality as possible over the rest of the week!

Igashu, glad to hear from you again, so far mine is working great. I just got my Airport Express card today (see link below) and installed. It worked out of box, but then stopped. I checked it by opening my 6520 back up and saw that the card was slightly jacked in the socket. Its a full height card with 3 antenna leads, so I put a bit of packing tape on it to hold it securely in the socket. Did that since I can't put a screw in it to secure it. I did have to add some atheros kexts to make it work right after repot. But its working like a champ, Im typing in this post from it now. Im extremely happy because for the first time I can use the built in key board and track pad and "get 'er done"!! As well as surf the interwebz!! 450M Apple AirPort Extreme Atheros AR5BXB112 AR9380 N card NOT AR5BXB92 AR5BXB72 http://www.ebay.com/...984.m1439.l2649 I will be looking forward to eventually getting battery and shutdown working correctly. At this point I have to pull the battery when not in use or it totally drains down. Guess mac is doing nasty stuff in the back ground even when its "off"..... Eventually I want to add an i7 quad in place of my i5. Im a power abuser!!

Received it in the Mail. Installed a drive in it and slid it into the DVD drive bay. Instant 500 gig hard drive addition! I may get a few more for my linux drive and a PC drive. Then I can have all kinds of fun!

New question. What is the default NIC that came with your 6520? I think mine is/was a Broadcom, not sure about the model since Im trying to get wireless working now and its installed (or I think its the correct one). I had to remove the full hight Airport NIC as it was killing my USB bus on 10.8.3? This is sad, I thought it was ready, everything else seems to be working. Just need to get wireless up and then I will test more stuff. Edit: I have since ordered these two NICs to see if either will work in my newly refreshed Haxb00k (E6520) 450M Apple AirPort Extreme Atheros AR5BXB112 AR9380 N card NOT AR5BXB92 AR5BXB72 http://www.ebay.com/itm/190743953105?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 DELL DW 1510 AGN Half bcm4322 dual-band N pci-e card http://www.ebay.com/itm/180633978471?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 I also ordered a second drive bay adapter that replaced the DVD drive. OK this may not be the best place to ask, but its relevant to my 6520. I found that I can boot and install with a DVD (Did this via another installer, but wont mention name here, but system wont successfully boot even in safe mode). So what is the best way to make a bootable DVD of my 6520 Myhack installer? I've susseccfully made 5 coasters so far. Really would like to stop wasting DL DVDs. Any suggestions? Edit: Hold da bus!!!! I went back and read the whole thread (Glad it was only 2 pages ) And I saw that I had stated I would try to reinstall without the AirPort NIC. Soooooooo...... I took it out and tried it (Also removed DVD drive just incase it was hogging the USB Bus) and guess what appeared? THE INSTALLER SCREEN!! W00t W00t! I did put the DVD drive back in, no impact. I also had to use "GraphicsEnabler=No" switch to get there, as the first preinstall boot stopped at the NVidia card initialization messages. But Im now using myhack and installing 10.8. I hope this one works since I made it using OSXLatitudes instructions and it's configured for my sweet 'lil 6520. Igashu I WILL be using your extras instead of OSXlatitudes because I think you got it going on!!! But I love this site for being so supportive of specific hardware! Edit 2: New question(s) to Igashu; do you use the Install_EDP.dmg from here or not once the install is complete? I read through first post again (really needed lots of coffee this A.M.) and saw that you don't use it or you wouldn't have made the "roll it into EDP" comment. I did an "upgrade install" and it didn't want to boot. So I put my original Atheros NIC back in and the systems boots to the installer, with no switches, without issues, go figure. Did a drive wipe and am now doing a clean install to see how it goes. I figure if my 6520 was down for 2 months I probably won't miss what ever was on it it. I have my bookmarks from my IHackintosh so Im good. More later! Edit 3: B00YAHHHHH!!!!!

Yep Im booting to it from BIOS, the USB that is.
-
Thats booting the USB drive trying to install. And where should I remove that from S/L/E on my existing install or is it "coming" from the boot volume? Edit: I did use spotlight to serch and found 6 instances of the devicemergenub.kext and I trashed them all. Still no joy! Waiting for root device messages just scroll up the screen. I have a real Apple Airport card in my NIC Slot, Cant remember if I got that after I installed the OS or not. Might try installing without it in slot and see what happens.
-
Well I cant get beyond this issue. USBF: 242.463 [long hex number see pic] The IOUSBFamily was not able to enumerate device blah blah blah. Until I can get round that I will never be able to install/upgrade. FYI, Im using the A15 BIOS. Wonder if that could be my problem.

I have followed both the guide quoted above and your guide. Please clarify the above parts of your guide so I can try to replicate your expereince exactly. Specifically what did you name thte folder? Extras or some other name that would not conflict with Extras normally on a hackintosh install stick. Is this part of the install or while using myhack to create the install drive? I've never seen this in any of my attempted (maybe 200 plus) installs. I do this/these a lot because I break them alot!! D0H!!!! ??? we know this really means success! I am pleased to hear that I dont have to wipe my 10.7.5 install. I hate reinstalling everyting after a clean install. I will take that tack once I get to the Install Screen. My biggest problem is I keep getting to the enumeration of the Root ID and then the system continues to "scan" for the proper root device and never makes it past that point. So I have yet to make it to the actual "install screen of OSX". That was why I was asking which USB port you were booting from and if you used any boot switches. Igashu Thanks very much for trying to make all of our lives easier. And Thanks You again for your assistance to me.

Saphire; Not completely true, at least in my case. I took out my mini Wi-Fi card and replaced it with a "twice as large" real AirPort card I got from eBay. It just fits inside my laptop (6520) with the bottom held in place while I screw the screws back into the bottom. The card does overlap the chassis a bit but it does fit. Of course YOUR milage may vary.

I have asked this in the "other" 6520 thread but I have to ask here as well since you are using the same hardware as I am. What port do you put your "key drive" in and what if any boot switches do you use? Installs for 6520s would probably be easier if we had a generic guide and within that guide had specifics for each unit where applicable. Between the two threads it is very confusing what to do to complete a successful 6520 install. I have 10.7.5 running on my 6520 but I can't honestly remember exactly how I got there. I do remember using EDP pack from a comparable unit. I do have minor annoyances like no joypad or trackpad, but short of that everything else works. (I did buy an airport card and have that installed in the short card slot. Even though its twice the size of the slot.) Im all for spearheading the installer guide composition since Im trying to upgrade from Lion to Mountain Lion. But I will need specific information to complete said same.

What port did you use for USB drive? I keep getting stuck at waiting for root device. And then an error that it cant find the device as well as; The IOUSBFamily is having trouble ..... will keep retrying (Port 1 of Hub at 0x1d000000) I even went so far as to put in a "clean" HD to install too. No joy yet. I've been trying the following switches; -v cpus=1 busratio=25 nv_disable=1 GraphicsEnabler=Yes PCIRootUID=0 and 1 Still no joy!
