Hi, I receive the request a lot after posting the V5-571 topic: I do not have the time anymore to write a guide on how to convert a codec0 file to an AppleHDA.kext. Perhaps someone can pick this up,
-
Ah ok, thought it could also work with the HD3000, my bad

Bash script for mobile Intel HD 4600 support in Yosemite
LexHimself replied to LexHimself's topic in The Archive
Something in those lines. I tried defaults read 0412 which extracts the IOPCIPrimarymatch line and prints it in terminal, lets say i called it check. That worked, it's the comparison where i get stuck, can't find the right command. Modified the command of example since my kext has been patched: bash-3.2# defaults read /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelHD5000Graphics.kext/Contents/Info | grep 0416 IOPCIPrimaryMatch = "0x0d268086 0x0a268086 0x0a2e8086 0x0d228086 0x04168086"; bash-3.2# This output needs to be compared to, how would i go about that? Thanks in advance. -
How did you fix the unexpected PARSEOP_EXTERNAL expecting ) ? Anyway, nice job. The Optimus card does not, and perhaps never will work on OS X86, unless you can disable the internal graphics from bios. To prevent overheating the system, since the card is detected and running on full power without drivers, but unusable, it is recommended to disable the card.
-
Do i need to provide the original ACPI tables to get this added to EDP? The original files really are a mess. To disable the Optimus card, various lines need to be removed from the DSDT, it kept me busy for a day or 2 Also, i do not know if it will work with Chameleon.

Yosemite Clover pack for Acer Aspire V5-571G-53316G
LexHimself replied to LexHimself's topic in The Archive
Is it possible to add this model to EDP? All V5-571x share the same bios, and i can provide the ACPI tables unmodified if needed. Older versions of OS X should work also, since most of the files used in this model are from EDP. I used Clover because i have no knowledge of Chameleon after 2013. -
No. I recommend using Kext Utility.

When booting with -s mount -uw / rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/somename.kext cp -r /somehd/somefolder/somefile.kext /System/Library/Extensions/somename.kext Just the basics. Like Jake Lo said, provide a screenshot of the error and some system specs.

Bash script for mobile Intel HD 4600 support in Yosemite
LexHimself replied to LexHimself's topic in The Archive
No, not in the frame buffer binary, only in the plist. The frame buffer is injected through DSDT: If (LEqual (Arg2, Zero)) { Return (Buffer() { 0x03 } ) }\n Return (Package()\n {\n "device-id", Buffer() { 0x16, 0x04, 0x00, 0x00 },\n "AAPL,ig-platform-id", Buffer() { 0x06, 0x00, 0x26, 0x0a },\n -
Bash script for mobile Intel HD 4600 support in Yosemite

Hi, The azul binary patch is to fix artifacts and increase the vram, the value that is being changed belongs to 06 00 26 0A, and only is found once in the binary. 06 00 26 0A 01 03 03 03 00 00 00 02 00 00 30 01 00 00 60 00 00 00 00 60 D9 0A 00 00 D9 0A 00 00 Edit: I'm patching on Yosemite indeed, but as stated, the patch works, just want the failsafe mode added -
Hi, I'm currently working on a script to automatically patch the files to get the HD4600 working. The script works as intended, but has no checks. What i would like to do is check for a value in a plist or binary, if present, continue patching, if the value is not found, skip the file. Did some research, but failed to get it working. Any help would be appreciated. #!/bin/bash #Definitions p5000=/System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelHD5000Graphics.kext/Contents/Info.plist b5000=/System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelHD5000Graphics.kext/Contents/MacOS/AppleIntelHD5000Graphics pazul=/System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelFramebufferAzul.kext/Contents/Info.plist bazul=/System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelFramebufferAzul.kext/Contents/MacOS/AppleIntelFramebufferAzul if [ $(id -u) != 0 ]; then echo "You need to run this script as root. Hi, System specs: CPU: Intel Core i7-4700MQ (Haswell) Memory: 16GB DDR3 1600Mhz HDD: SATA: 1,5TB 5400RPM (1Empty SATA and 1 Empty SSD slot.) Graphics: Intel HD4600/Nvidia Geforce GT 745M Touchpad: Synaptics Audio: Conexant CX20751-11Z Wireless+BT: Intel Wireless-N 7260 Lan: Atheros AR8161/8165 So the wireless module does not work, i've replaced it with an Atheros AR5B93 which works OOB. Kexts injected by clover: Battery management works with Rehabman's ACPIBatterymanagement.kext and the default DSDT, no edits needed. Touchpad works with Rehabman's VoodooPS2Controller.kext. Just the kext, multitouch works and can be managed from the Trackpad panel. Ethernet works with ALXEthernet.kext. Kexts in S/L/E: AppleHDA.kext needs to be patched, files attached. AppleIntelFramebufferAzul.kext and AppleIntelHD5000Graphics.kext to correct the model, vram size and fix artifacts. Changes in AppleIntelFramebufferAzul.kext Config.plist: IOKitPersonalities > IOPCIPrimaryMatch > 0x04128086.
