  1. Dear seb,

You need to use the bootpack for your model and graphics. Use myhack from the usb installer to install the Extra folder. After that, you need to run myfix full mode on the os x partition before rebooting into it.

After you got your basic system running, download and install EDP 2.2 to configure your internet connection. After that, download and install EDP 3.1 to improve system stability and performnace.

    Cheers!

  2. Dear srg,

After installing 10.7.4, you need to replace the appleacpiplatform.kext in /S/L/E with an earlier version from snow leopard which will resolve a lot of issues from here:-

    http://forum.osxlati...__60#entry10092

After that, download and configure EDP 3.1 for your system.

You need to boot with mach_kernel arch=i386 -v -f and let us know what message is display if there is a KP.

We can solve one issue at a time.

    Cheers!

  3. Dear wishbone,

You can still boot into your windows if you install os x into your existing linux partition. Chameleon will only install the mbr and the rest is in the os x partition.

For snow leopard 10.6 you can install it to your mbr hard disk. However, if you intend to install lion 10.7 make sure you prepare your usb installer using myhack so that you can install os x into mbr hard disk.

    Cheers!

  4. Dear diggs,

I just remembered, there's an easier way to install cham. You can also install chameleon using myhack in the usb installer. Try it.

Further, the /Extra folder created from EDP 2.2 is for lion. You'll need to remove it and use the previous /Extra after you installed os x (if you have any).

Can i know what partition table you're using for your hard disk? Is is mbr or guid?

    Cheers!

  5. Dear digzz,

You just need the chameleon package from the EDP .2.2 package.

However, the easiest way to extract the chameleon package is to install EDP 2.2, copy the Chameleon package to be ran later and then delete the /Extra directory that was created by EDP 2.2.

Just make sure your backup your existing /Extra that was working for your leopard before that as you need to restore it before rebooting.

The other way is to use pacifist to extract the chameleon package.

    Cheers!

  6. Tommy,

My apologies. What I meant is 10.6.8.

Yes. You need to make sure you install EDP and make sure your 10.6.3 is configured first.

In particular, EDP will install NullCPUPowerManagement.kext in /Extra which will disable AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext. Without that, installing 10.6.8 combo update may cause a KP as AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext may be loaded.

I would advice that you create another partition, clone or install another os x system and test the 10.6.8 combo update before you do it on your main system.

It can't get any simpler that this.

    Cheers!

  7. Dear Ipecac,

I've swap my intel wifi to DW1510. It worked straight away out of the box and i have no complaint since rolleyes.gif

I haven't really noticed that my ethernet card is slow. Does it transfers faster when you try from other oses?

    Cheers!

  8. Tengoku,

Try to disable anything that's using ps2 in bios (e.g. parallel ports and mouse / touchpad from what you posted above). I'm assuming you have a usb mouse and hopefully the keyboard works. This should narrow down the problems,

    Cheers!

  9. Dear pwgus,

Which EDP did you used? 2.2?

VoodooHDA does caused panic sometimes with 2.2. Try EDP 3.1. It has VoodooHDA.kext that does not caused KP.

But need to remove the VoodoHDA.kext manually from /E/E and then run myfix so that you can get into the system to download and run EDP 3.1.

Should should normally boot with mach_kernel arch=i386 -v -f to troubleshoot and see the kernel messages.

    Cheers!
