Moderators Jake Lo Posted March 13, 2018 Moderators Share Posted March 13, 2018 I'm very aware of Mirone's AppleHDA Autopatcher which was what I have on my bootpack (AppleHDA_ALC280.kext). It's the same patch as the layout-id 4 of AppleALC.kext, no audio from the back jacks.
brousseau6933
Thanks for the enlightenment. Solved: all jacks working! Use AppleALC.kext lilu plugin and obviously Lilu.kext. Download the following DSDT with HDEF Layout-ID 13 and that's it... DSDT.aml.zip
Moderators Jake Lo Posted March 14, 2018 Moderators Share Posted March 14, 2018 Confirmed! Layout-ID 13 enables audio jack on the back, but you have to manually select it (Line Out). Note: The audio on the back is not as loud as the front headphone jack (Headphones).
brousseau6933
Didn't noticed but I was surprised to see that levels were not at max upon installation. Are you sure you cranked the volume at maximum for rear out?
Moderators Jake Lo Posted March 14, 2018 Moderators Share Posted March 14, 2018 Yes, if I cranked the rear to the highest, it's not as loud as the highest in the front jack but not complain, just a note.
brousseau6933
Ah, fine. Maybe a setting in the AppleALC kext...? As a sidenote, I was able to ditch completely the DSDT and inject the layout-id 13 in the Clover config.plist (also checked "FixHDA" and AddDGTP"). I also removed "HaltEnabler", "DropOEM", "FixRegions" and "Drop DMAR". It made no change to the KP at sleep/wake with High Sierra unfortunately (obviously, "FixHeaders" is checked)... The settings "HaltEnabler", "DropOEM", "FixRegions" and "Drop DMAR" were needed for Mavericks or Yosemite I would guess Jack? Thanks, Patrice
brousseau6933
Looking at AppleALC.kext, there's two layouts for ALC280 (it was made for Dell PowerEdge T20 BTW by a fellow named MacPeet): 13, identified as "manual mode" and 15, identified as "switch mode". Maybe the second one removes the need to manually switching the jacks in Audio Preferences? I'll give it a try when I'll have some spare time. There's also 68 byte Config Data in the info.plist so maybe there is a link with the volume discrepancy between front and rear??? This is where my knowledge ends unfortunately... brousseau6933
Well, layout-ID 15 indeed switches automatically when you insert a cable in front or on rear. For the lower volume on the rear, I've posted a support request on the AppleALC InsanelyMac support forum. Maybe it is embedded in the chip... EDIT: Sound is lower too on the rear under Windows 10. However, maximum sound is louder in Win 10 so headphone outs at max is dangerous but rear output is fine (but louder than OSX).
brousseau6933
ACPI errors thrown in verbose mode so I reverted to your Config.plist and the modified layout DSDT. These settings were there for a reason and now, I know why...
Administrators Bronxteck Posted March 17, 2018 Administrators Share Posted March 17, 2018 ACPI error could be because you removed drop DMAR
