Administrators Bronxteck Posted July 31, 2018 Administrators Share Posted July 31, 2018 did you check in energy saver pref pane and uncheck dim on battery power?
Moderators Jake Lo Posted July 31, 2018 Moderators Share Posted July 31, 2018 IntelBacklight.kext does not work beyond 10.12.3 or 10.12.4, can't remember. Remove it from Clover kexts Add the attached kexts to /L/E Replace the Config file as I added appropriate patches to go with the kext Repair permissions and rebuild cache  7480_BrightnessFix.zip
karde
Thanks @Jake Lo and @Bronxteck  Yes, settings is off in energy saving. With the attached config and kext I can raise the brightness once, but can't seem to adjust it after that (lower it - increase it) , any tips?  Thanks!!
Moderators Jake Lo Posted August 1, 2018 Moderators Share Posted August 1, 2018 can you adjust by sliding the slider? how are you adjusting it? post new debug files
karde
Sorry! Attaching. I'm adjusting it in /System Prefe/Displays. I can slide it up on boot, once, then I can't adjust it any more . Â CLOVER.zip debug_27578.zip
Moderators Jake Lo Posted August 1, 2018 Moderators Share Posted August 1, 2018 Remove AppleBacklightInjector.kext from Clover kext, should only run in /L/E but don't think that's the issue, looks normal in IOReg. I remember others with this same or similar model having similar issue. It works perfectly after waking from sleep. Give that a try.
karde
Thanks, didn't make any difference, but.. Â I noticed now that the problem looks like this: On boot the display is slightly dimmed, I can then adjust it to get it brighter, then, I can't adjust it to get as dark as it was on boot, but If I hold the brightness adjuster and slide it down it gets darker when! I almost am hitting the darkest settings (now the display is really dark), I can then adjust it to the brighest, but, seems like there's no in between. Moderators Jake Lo Posted August 1, 2018 Moderators Share Posted August 1, 2018 delete nvram.plist in /EFI reinstall Clover with these settings: Install for UEFI booting only Install Clover in the ESP Drivers64UEFI\AptioMemoryFix-64 (leave the other default as is/ uncheck all other Aptio*) Install Clover Preference Pane Make sure you don't have OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efi or OsxAptioFixDrv-64.efi in /EFI/Clover/driver64UEFI
