Moderators Jake Lo Posted April 3, 2019 Moderators Share Posted April 3, 2019 @philstopford Interesting it works on yours and not my E7470, same device ID but with different subsys E7470 02:00.0 (null) [ff00]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. (null) [10ec:525a] (rev 01) (subsys 1028:06dc) 7480 01:00.0 (null) [ff00]: RealTek Semiconductor Co. philstopford
I am waiting to hear back from Philippe to see what it might cost/take to get the driver updated. I'll use your troubles as an excuse to follow up with him. I should note that 'worked' turns out to be a little optimistic in my case. It recognizes inserted media, but doesn't really want to do much with it (e.g. formatting an SD card results in an obscure error message).
philstopford
Rough estimate from Philippe would be minimum of two months and ~1600 USD as a contract job to bring the driver up to par.

Administrators Hervé Posted April 14, 2019 Administrators Share Posted April 14, 2019 Subsys 1028:081c on the Latitude 7490. Same behaviour as reported by @philstopford, whether injecting using Sinetek's kexts available at IM or the above. This being said, subsystem id can be faked through DSDT patching or Clover injection, as well as full compatibility values 'wondering if we could not fake RTS5227 which was supposed to be supported and working...
