Tubardus
Hello everyone, I would like to know if anyone had ever encountered an issue with his intern microphone. Mine is recognized but doesn't work. These days, it would be useful to have a working skype... Thanks!
Administrators Hervé Posted April 7, 2020 Administrators Share Posted April 7, 2020 -> moving from FAQ section (???) to correct Latitude 7xxx one... Please! Mine works OOB as per my guide. But you did check in BIOS setup that your mike was enabled as per our posted recommended settings, right?
Tubardus
Sorry for the mistake. Yes I checked in BIOS setup. The mike is enabled. Also, I have the kext AppleALC in version 1.4.2 instead of the version 1.3.8 that you recommended. Do you think that could be the cause?
Administrators Hervé Posted April 7, 2020 Administrators Share Posted April 7, 2020 AppleALC v1.3.8 was the version I used at time of writing. I'm currently using AppleALC v1.4.7 in Catalina 10.15.4 and microphone is working Ok. What does your Audio PrefPane show for input? Volume Ok? Tubardus
I'm on Catalina 10.15.3. You warned us about the version 10.15.4 so I didn't want to lose a working setup. Otherwise, sound is very good even with earphones. The PrefPane shows that the mike is recognized. But no sound is going in.

Moderators Jake Lo Posted April 7, 2020 Moderators Share Posted April 7, 2020 Try different layout-id for ALC256, the following are for Dell. Layout-id 16 is the latest from v1.4.7 13, 14, 16, 21,
Tubardus
OK I will try that. I can change these settings from Clover configurator? Is that it?
Tubardus
I tried all of them. Only 13 gave back to me the mike. But after a little while, the sound began to scratch. The others gave the sound but no mike. Should I try all 50? Maybe I should update to version 1.4.7 and set the layout to 16?
