Guest t.anjan
Hello, Thank you for this detailed guide. It took a while to read through and understand clearly, but it is worth it! I have already posted the below here. But since this is the thread which has the guide, and it looks like the thread is still active, I thought I may get better results by posting it here too. I have the ALC 236 on my Lenovo Yoga 710. I cannot get the Line In to work after patching the AppleHDA. When I plug in the external mic into the jack, it sometimes gets detected the first time. But if I unplug it and plug it back in, it does not even get detected. The internal mic continues working. Also, the headphone is problematic: when I plug it in the first time, it works fine. If I unplug it and plug it back in, the audio has a heavy crackling sound. The Internal Speaker and Internal Mic work fine. Although, the max volume of the speaker is far lower than on Windows. If you have any ideas for this, please do share. I am on 10.12.2 . I have already checked the ALC236 AppleHDA kext from the Lenovo Z51 (here and here). The pin configuration seems to be different between my laptop and the Z51. I am attaching the relevant files. FYI - I have patched my DSDT to use layout-id of 28. The AppleHDA bin patch is done through Clover. Clover's config.plist is also attached. It would be of great help if somebody can have a look and tell me where I am going wrong. codec_dump_0.txt Info.plist.zip config.plist.zip layout28.xml.zip Platforms.xml.zip

Moderators Jake Lo Posted December 31, 2016 Moderators Share Posted December 31, 2016 Try Maciasl instead. Are you on El Capitan or Sierra? It might need extra patches.
