Please advice me and give me a solution.

I only ever saw this issue when I loaded the VoodooSDHC.kext. If you have that in your extras try removing and then running myFix again and rebooting. You'll lose the SD card reader, but you'll have the ability to sleep the system.

Hmm, this is very ambiguous for choose that function woke up or SD Card Reader. Because Woke up and Card Reader is very important features to me. Whether any patch for VoodooSDHC.kext to fix it??

you can actually load the kext for SD card on an as needed basis to keep sleep working.

Put the VoodooSDHC.kext in another folder like /Extra/TempExtensions/ and run this command replacing the proper path as needed

"sudo kextload /Exta/TempExtensions/VoodooSDHC.kext"

once you done using the sd card you will need to unload the kext

"sudo kextunload /Exta/TempExtenstions/VoodooSDHC.kext"

Note, this will not persist after a reboot, but will cause the blank screen if you sleep the PC while the kext is in loaded.

Hi Dave,

I already remove VoodooSDHC.kext and run MyFix with MyHack then i reboot my OS X. After reboot i test the sdcard slot and not run so VoodooSDHC.kext totally removed but if i sleep my OS X and i woke up is still black screen. Any idea?

Best Regards,

Malik

Malik,

As noted, you cannot have the VoodooSDHC.kext driver loaded with the system and retain sleep. If you want to use the SD card, you will have to load the driver manually when you intend to use it.

Please read the instructions above and attempt to load the driver, if you come across any errors, ill be glad to review and help you get it going.

Thanks,

Dave

Folks, to get SD Card reader working without killing sleep, try this

Credit goes to joe82.

The VEN/DEV will not be the same. For my E6420/E6430/6430U, it's pci1217,8221

You could skip the DSDT edits, it'll work fine without it. Enjoy!

This is great news! Can't wait to try it.
