deselitor
Hi all, Dell Latitude 7480 - Core I7 - 7600U Intel HD graphics 620 SSD: LITOEN CV3-BD512- 11 SATA 512GB FHD screen: 1920x1080 (non-touch) I have a grey screen with a moving mouse cursor when I boot from a USB installer (Ventura) or (Monterey) recovery image downloaded from here. So it seems to "boot up". But instead of showing any UI, it shows a grey screen. I have tried the attached configuration and also the one in this thread. However, both have the same results. Then I read this thread. and I injected my EDID with the hex data obtained as per this link, also removed fbmem and stolenmem from config.plist, and executed setup_var 0x795 0x2 and setup_var 0x796 0x3 in a modified GRUB shell. But unfortunately, it still doesn't work. Is there another obvious thing to try? I have attached the current state of the config.plist. config.zip
Administrators Hervé Posted January 30 Administrators Share Posted January 30 KBL frame buffer layout 0x591B0000 should work Ok but I suggest you revert to the usual layout 0x59160000 instead, i.e. replace "00001B59" by "00001659" against property AAPL,ig-platform-id key. Remember to reset NVRAM at OC Picker when you reboot after changing your config file. I also suggest your clear out all those commented out lines you've got in your config to clean things up: but you must reinstate the line that allows patching of connector con1 and probably the 2 lines that patch DVMT settings, i.e. remove the heading '#' character:

Administrators Hervé Posted January 30 Administrators Share Posted January 30 It's probably something else in your OC config. What if you enable quirk SyncRuntimePermissions? Check your BIOS settings too (and have Legacy Options ROM disabled).
deselitor
My BIOS Setting: Disable: Secure Boot -> Secure Boot Enable -> Disabled Intel Software Guard Extension -> Intel SGX Enable -> Disabled General -> Advanced Boot Options -> Enable Legacy Option ROMs -> Disabled Enable: System Configuration -> Integrated NIC -> Enabled But not tick the entry: Enable UEFI Network System Configuration -> SATA Operation -> AHCI System Configuration -> Thunderbolt Adapter Configuration -> Enable all entries and select Security level - No security as suggestion, I enable quirk SyncRuntimePermissions. I reset NVRAM at OC Picker when I reboot after changing the config file. But unfortunately, it still doesn't work.
