Administrators Bronxteck Posted February 20, 2011 Administrators Share Posted February 20, 2011 cant you just integrate sudo kextutil -v /extra/extensions/I8kfan.kext into the gui since it needs password anyway to load.. i added it to logon items and it asks for password then it loads and is usable

Yes, I also notice it heated CPU. So I am not using it at regular base. Some day I rewrite this driver but it is not nearest future.

Slice
The question is offcourse, is there a need for this ? Btw.. try and click FN+Z on your keyboard.. did you cooler stop ? As well as any monitoring. My cooler became silent after Fn+Z but why? It is without I8kfan! How to revert? Now I start I8k and look 6300rpm Fn+Z -> 5400rpm, but the temperature is high so, after few seconds 6300rpm again. Secret Dell's trick? Will check on 1525 tomorrow. I have to manually load the kext sudo kextload I8kfan.kext Then load the I8kfanGUI
