Baldoo
The T7250 will not work on our laptop. You can only choose a T7000 series Core 2 Duo with a 667MHz FSB. That's either a T7200 @ 2GHz, a T7400 @ 2,16GHz or a T7600 @ 2,33GHz. For example, will this processor work? It is less than half the price of the T7200's I am finding. larryo108
Will a T7700 work? Or it has to be a even series?
Administrators Bronxteck Posted November 3, 2011 Administrators Share Posted November 3, 2011 it has to be merom architecture socket M for gma945 chipset compatibility with a fsb of 667. t7700 has a 800 mhz fsb so no it will not... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Core_2_microprocessors#.22Merom.22.2C_.22Merom-2M.22_.28standard-voltage.2C_65_nm.
manasota
Did the heat sink work, or did you have to replace that too?
Administrators Bronxteck Posted November 6, 2011 Administrators Share Posted November 6, 2011 heatsink should not be a problem just make sure you use good heatsink compound and that the gpu pad is making contact with the gpu.
Shiki
For D620 the max CPU to increase for replacement is T7600, which i had done it recently. Talking on heat issue, T7600 runs cooler then T5500 (old CPU)... my current T7600 normal temp 30-35 degC whereas T5500 normally stay at 40-49degC, all these info was get from the iStat Menu. Hey anyone can share if i can replace D620 with D630 heatsink? 'cause D630 comes with Northbridge and Southbridge too... i'm thinking making the laptop ever cooler. Administrators Bronxteck Posted December 4, 2011 Administrators Share Posted December 4, 2011 I'm using a t7200 and it runs cool as well compared to like temps on t5500, t7200 runs at about 26* according to istat. but the macbook2,1 actually came with the t7200.
