Moderators Jake Lo Posted September 8, 2014 Moderators Share Posted September 8, 2014 Wow-man, if you upgrade to 10.9.4 and ran step 11 - Kexts > Graphics > HD4400/4600 DP/HDMI Freeze (Only on Mavericks 10.9.1 -> 10.9.3) You'll lose QE/CI. Fix only works up to 10.9.3. Restore the vanilla FB, you'll get QE/CI but will encounter HDMI freeze. No known fix for Dell as of yet.
Wow-man
Jake Lo thnx for answering. Can you describe how i can restore vanilla FB ?
Moderators Jake Lo Posted September 8, 2014 Moderators Share Posted September 8, 2014 when you ran the fix, it should create a backup on your desktop, look for a backup folder with the file. Use kextwizard to reinstall to S/L/E and repair permission.
Wow-man
Jake Lo, yeahhh! You helped me (video is without freezs), but now I have new trouble, which was after OS upgrading: Menu-bar in top left-side is strange (watch attached file): text-color is purple without correct contour and text-background is with lags (stripes)... Maybe you have next solution for me ?
Moderators Jake Lo Posted September 8, 2014 Moderators Share Posted September 8, 2014 See here. I have documented this for my E7x40 series.

dell3537
are you sure that you open .dsl files (not .aml) ? yes, I am sure. it even gives me some errors on the ''system DSDT'' when I compile it. I even tried the whole process again to no avail. still the same error. It confuses me, because the last time I installed mavericks on the laptop, I had no errors whatsoever! :S everything worked! p.s.; the error shows up even before i patch it. p.s.2; I have the dell 3537 i7 model, if that helps
