aeroz51
I followed the installation instructions posted here, https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/6472-dell-latitude-e7240e7440-with-mavericks-1095-updated/ Installed Bootloader for e7440. Downloaded Yosemite, boots into Chameleon and gives me the option to install - reboots, displays "invalid Partition table". I press enter and keeps going into the boot loop. Anyone have any suggestions??

aeroz51
Thank you for the help. I was able to finally get to the installer. Starts to install Yosemite and then it errors "an error occurred while extracting files from the package essentials.pkg" I have ran Disk Utility and Partitioned drive, rebooted and attempted 3 times - same error. I have a Dell Latitude e7440 128GB SSD / 8GB memory / Intel integrated video card. I had to start the installer by using graphicsenabler=no -x maxmem=4096 Any suggestions on why the error on this package?
Administrators Bronxteck Posted February 18, 2015 Administrators Share Posted February 18, 2015 "an error occurred while extracting files from the package essentials.pkg" that has to do with the way the installer was made. you might be missing something on it. remake the installer. aeroz51
Should I wipe out the USB and start over? I used this installer guide: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/7478-dell-latitude-yosemite-install-guide/ Tried this one first but had trouble with the DSDT.aml edit, mine showed 3 errors - steps outlined two - couldn't get the errors to go away so I could save the file. https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/6461-guide-e7440-with-clover/ which one do you suggest? aeroz51
Yes, I thought I did... checked the USB, don't see base system.dmg and base system.chunklist on the root of the USB. Going to copy and try again...

aeroz51
I redone the installer, able to install. After installation, reboots. I select Macintosh SSD to complete installation - goes back into boot loop. Any suggestions?
Moderators Jake Lo Posted February 19, 2015 Moderators Share Posted February 19, 2015 You need to copy the patched kernel to the Installed Drive. 1) Reboot to the USB installer 2) launch the terminal and copy the haswell kernel (10.10.2 version - assuming you're installing 10.10.2) to the Installed drive /system/library/kernels replacing the vanilla kernel cp /Volumes/"Your USB Installer name"/System/Library/Kernels/kernel /Volumes/"Your installed drive name"/System/Library/Kernels/ 3) from terminal copy the Extra folder from USB installer to Installed drive root cp -R /Volumes/"Your USB Installer name"/Extra /Volumes/"Your installed drive name"/Extra 4) Reboot with USB Installer and select the Installed drive 5) After successful completion and log in, install Chameleon boot loader to the Installed drive 6) Install all files in Extra/Extensions/SLE with Kextwizard to /System/library/extensions 7) Reboot to the installed drive without the USB
