aeroz51
I was able to install Mavericks using this guide: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/6472-dell-latitude-e7240e7440-with-mavericks-1095-updated/ Installed fine. Boots from HDD as well - only thing is that it scrolls thru about a dozen scripts before prompting login screen. Also, my wifi does not work - I have an internal Intel wifi card. aeroz51
I am thinking of just purchasing a usb wifi receiver - any specific model?
Moderators Jake Lo Posted February 20, 2015 Moderators Share Posted February 20, 2015 Are you booting with -v -f? If so, don't, should be able to boot without any boot flag. See Wireless Cards link in my signature below for some supported USB wifi cards.
aeroz51
It takes me to the boot loader, I press enter on my HDD to boot into Mavericks - not using -v -f It goes directly into the scrolling pages of text. Just noticed that sound is not working either. Thanks for the link to wireless cards.
Moderators Jake Lo Posted February 20, 2015 Moderators Share Posted February 20, 2015 check org.chameleon.boot.plist to see if the flags are there, remove if it's there. For audio, make sure you got the latest version of the kext from the updates below the guide. You must install it to /System/Library/Extensions to work. Use kextwizard. Administrators Hervé Posted February 20, 2015 Administrators Share Posted February 20, 2015 Press [space] when on your Yosemite icon at the bootloader. You may have a sticking verbose flag.

Moderators Jake Lo Posted February 20, 2015 Moderators Share Posted February 20, 2015 A simple search from google would have gotten you here http://wizards.osxla...t/download.html Try Herve's advice in post #36 When you see the Mavericks icon, look below to see if any flags are shown, if so, remove it. If not, try removing FileNVRAM...random number from /Extra
aeroz51
I took Herve's advice... pressed spacebar. I did see the flags -v -f I removed them, system booted into Apple logo with wheel spinning... stayed there for a very long time. Never went to login screen.
