However, I got error when I try to boot USB. CPU - Intel® Core i7-4810MQ 2.80GHz (Haswell I guess) Please help. Thank you. David
Moderators Jake Lo Posted February 12, 2016 Moderators Share Posted February 12, 2016 I'm not sure Quadro K2100M is supported. Can it be disabled in the BIOS? Does system have HD 4600?
Administrators Hervé Posted February 12, 2016 Administrators Share Posted February 12, 2016 Actually I believe we have Dell mobile Precision workstation fitted with Quadro K2100M that run OS X with full graphics support. https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/8593-precision-m4800-brightness-slider-need-help/ Intel i7-4810MQ is indeed a Haswell CPU, so kernel power management patching is required. What's the error reported when you boot your USB installer?
dchen4649
Thank you, Herve and Jake. Without -xcpm in the boot command, the LCD monitor is black, and USB does not have any activity (no LED lights flashing). With -xcpm and without load cache and kext, the LCD monitor has following error if I removed dsdt.aml (The first picture). The USB has some activities for about a few seconds. Thanks again and have a nice weekend.
Administrators Bronxteck Posted February 14, 2016 Administrators Share Posted February 14, 2016 is the DSDT for your manufacture model pc if it is not i would not try using it.
dchen4649
Thank you, Bronxteck. The dsdt.aml was for Latitude E6440. The first picture was taken after I removed dsdt.aml, and without loading cache and kext. This laptop PC has only three USB-3 ports and do not have any USB-2 ports. Could that be the problem? Administrators Bronxteck Posted February 14, 2016 Administrators Share Posted February 14, 2016 do you have an external monitor you can connect to the laptop? it looks like the graphics is not detecting your internal screen properly.
Administrators Hervé Posted February 14, 2016 Administrators Share Posted February 14, 2016 This model seems quite similar to Precision M4800. You could possibly try the special SMBIOS required for the M4600. It's available here. No guarantee though...
dchen4649
Thank you, Herve and Bronxteck. I will try both SMBIOS for M4600 and external monitor. I will also search for those forum discussions for M4800. I will let you know the results. Have a nice weekend, David
