Latitude E6430s: trouble booting to 10.11.4 El Capitan installer

After the re-install the Hackintosh appeared as a boot option, but now of course it won't boot and gives me the prohibited sign. Verbose reads:

 

"CoreStorageFamily: :unlockVeks(AABEAC6D-ECD3-417E-984B-CD4A2325E855) Vek unwrap failed. this is normal, except for the root volume."

You probably need to boot your installer then, once at the main screen, go to Utility->Terminal, identify your logical drive and revert it from CoreStorage to legacy mode. You'll find explanations and guidance here, in the post-installation tuning part.

diskutil cs list  

you see something like below. Note the UUID in red and Revertible = Yes

run diskutil cs revert UUID> , you can copy and paste the UUID

 

reboot when finish. Boot with USB and select your Installed drive to complete your install

The disk device name can be used too; for instance in the above example, the command

diskutil cs revert /dev/disk2

would normally work too; it's a bit simpler than having to type the entire UUID.

Follow the post install starting at #5. When running the permission fix and rebuild cache, make sure you have successful output. If not, then run it again.

 

For Wireless, if you have an Intel card, then yes, it'll need to be replaced. No way around it. See here for a list of supported card, like a USB card.
