I don't know what I'm doing wrong at this point. Am I using clover wrong? I ran clover on a usb and copied the files from your archive to where they belong within it. Now it crashes immediately and made no progress.

using the clover files from savage's post i get to the apple loading screen with the progress bar but it halts once it is full. i think its a kernel panic

I feel like i must be missing something.

edit: i read jake's guide. i added your archive to jake's generic clover and now im still having no luck. i'm having a memory problem immediately after i try booting mac installer.

edit: omg are you on a vpro? my bad. im on the non vpro. sorry.

following jake's guide, my machine crashes within 5 seconds of booting off mac installer. I have been building the installer using 10.6.8. I have an update to 10.7 running right now. I'm hoping that will help. I'm running out of ideas. I've spent a few sleepless nights already trying to get this thing running, using all sorts of different images. I still feel like I'm overlooking something very simple. If you have any suggestions i am all ears. Thanks again for your help and your patience.

I will post a pic when I get home, thank you Hervé!

Edit: With every post I make I realize how many mistakes I've overlooked.

OsxAptioFixDrv: Starting overrides for System\Library\CoreServices\boot.efi
Using reloc block: yes, hibernate wake: no
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This is the problem I've been having I think. I will confirm when I get home and see if switching dimm slots helps me out.
Again, thanks for your patience everyone.

Edit 2: Peti, is your archive to be used as a bootpack? This is my first time not using unifail. I install clover then download the generic efi and combine your archive into it and putting DSDT.aml in the ACPI\patched folder. Is this correct or am I missing something? I would send a pic with my log but i'm not even confident that I have the boot loader configured properly yet

here is the mess i have so far.

I set up clover and partition for Sandybridge which I believe is what my microarch is. (according to jake's guide)

I have the 720p display not the 1600 display and don't know what to do about it.

EDIT: https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/6372-dell-latitude-5x30-6x30-clover-install-guide/

I gave up on el Capitan and am trying this guide, and here im getting a KP too.

I feel like i am way closer to getting it to boot with this guide if anyone can point out what it is im doing wrong.

I'm sorry for all the questions I am leaving for school very soon and I need this puppy running mac. Getting desperate!

Are you sure it's a SandyBridge platform? What CPU and graphics do you have in there? It'll show in the BIOS System Information page. You appear to be using a MacBookPro9,2 SMBIOS, i.e. an IvyBridge system. Unless you get to know what your specs are, you're unlikely to get anywhere.

Finally, you get the well-known AICPUPM KP, make sure to activate AsusAICPUPM in Clover or to use the patched AICPUPM kext with Chameleon/Enoch.

Im not positive. I feel like I may have a pretty obscure e5430 or something. I'm on an i3-2328m. my video controller just says intel hd graphics but i think its 3000. I'm running in -x right now after activating AICUPM in clover and I crash after missing bluetooth controller transport. Which, from what I've read is related to my gfx.

Any help you can give is greatly appreciated. I went into this knowing it wouldn't be as easy as a desktop build but I have sunk so many hours into this at this point that I just want to get it over with
