neverly1
Hi, when I boot El Capitain with Clover Bootloader, the clock in OS X is late. This means, after boot the clock is ok, but over time the clock is always more delayed. I used the Clover files as recommended in Polyzargone's thread. Any idea? Administrators Bronxteck Posted September 23, 2016 Administrators Share Posted September 23, 2016 most likely your tsc is loosing sync. there used to be a kext for that.
polyzargone
Maybe this one ? VoodooTSCSync.kext I'm surprised you need this though. Usually, this kext is used on AMD Systems. Never heard it was on Dell Dxxx !
Administrators Bronxteck Posted September 23, 2016 Administrators Share Posted September 23, 2016 yeah it was needed on a few D series machines. D420, D430, D620, D820
Administrators Hervé Posted September 23, 2016 Administrators Share Posted September 23, 2016 Indeed, it's required on all laptops with Intel 945 chipset, otherwise they KP. But it's not required on laptops with Intel 965 chipset. 'wondering if the OP's clock slippage could be fixed with setting the bus speed to 200000. If D830 is fitted with a Merom CPU, he should also ensure IDA is disabled in BIOS.
neverly1
Hi, thank you for your help. I have a D830 with Bios A17 Chipset ist 965 (I think but not sure) My CPU is T7700, which should be a Merom CPU. I tried the VoodooTSCSync.kext. Still I have a Clock slipage which is about 4 mins for 30 min uptime.
Administrators Bronxteck Posted September 26, 2016 Administrators Share Posted September 26, 2016 there used to be a voodootscsync kext for AMD that had a faster sync rate then the normal voodootsc kext but i think it was on projectosx site. you can try messing with clock/buss speed like herve implies also in clover gui so that it is not permanent untill you get it to sync. neverly1
It seems to be ok now. No clock slippage for 30 mins uptime. IDA was enabled (Intel Dynamic Acceleration). I disabled it. As explained here If you know what to look for Thanks again for your help.
