esmith1966
I have installed OS X Sierra to my older DX58so system. I have graphics working, audio working, and ethernet working. BUT the config.plist file does not like modifications. I do not know what is wrong with the file. It is the one from the clover boot CD... Need to know what to change to make the config.plist file work with this machine... this file "works" but does not whenever I modify stuff... config.plist.zip
Moderators Jake Lo Posted May 7, 2017 Moderators Share Posted May 7, 2017 what did you use to modify the file? Use Xcode or plistedit pro, not textedit
esmith1966
I ended up using Clover Configurator and modified it step by step... It works with modifications now... The question is whether the current file has all the correct options selected... I didn't modify much from the config.plist file from the Clover boot cd... Everything works now... I had heard that the DX58so board has power management issues... Does this mean that sleep is an issue?
Administrators Bronxteck Posted May 7, 2017 Administrators Share Posted May 7, 2017 sleep issues tend to be usb bus related. sometimes network wake on lan bios option can also cause sleep issues. or old network kexts.
esmith1966
Well... this new build seems to work really well.. Thanks for everyone's help on this.
esmith1966
Installed to a 2nd DX58so board... Still having the problems with the config.plist... when i reuse the one from the 1st machine it boots all the way up... BUT when i change the SMBIOS to reflect a different serial number, it goes into an endless boot loop. Never gets to desktop. Have to boot with the Clover CD to get into the machine... Administrators Bronxteck Posted May 16, 2017 Administrators Share Posted May 16, 2017 maybe the way you are editing your plist is corrupting it. don't use text edit incase thats what you are using. or the whole efi volume might have corruption which is also known to happen.
