Enjoy your new laptop.
-
@Jake Lo, don't spent your time. Screenshot I sent shows that is the new Apple way. When macOs shows batter 100% , IOReg shows it is not and agrees with coconut.
Could you , please , take a look at my hotpatch to see if you find any errors or if you would add anything ?
-
Kexts are the same.
-
No , I'm using virtualsmc and smcbattery kexts.
Something interesting , which could be the reason for this problem is that , as I said before , when I use hot patch I don't get raw values.
But I tried again with a dsdt static patch and battery percentage is the same both for coconut and macOS and raw value are back.
Something missing from ACPI hotpatch ?
-
Ok, solved the "lid opening" problem.
Apart from the vattery readings , everything seems fine. But I'm not an expert and hotpach is very tricky.
@Jake Lo , I need your help and time for one more time.
Can you look at my config to see if there are any errors with hotpatching , errors in logs etc ?
Thank you in advance.

Started hotpatching from the scratch and everything working fine , except this lid opening thing.
-
@Jake Lo , I'm facing another problem.
When lid close and reopen system reboot.
Can you take a look? Maybe something wrong with my hotpatch?

Perhaps this statement is true for MacOS too.
You could ask the developer with that question.

It's not just between macos and coconut. Bios also agrees with coconut.
On my previous dell 3542 laptop didn't have this problem. On both HS and Mojave.
Biggest problem is that if you want to optimise battery life and unplug when macos says it's fully charged , then actually battery needs additional 15-20min to fuly charged.
-
So , it is not my laptop or my own config.
Hope you figure it out.
-
@gebele04, you could try my new config. I think that it works even better especially with sleep.
Keep in mind that you have to delete ssdt-usb at acpi/patched , you have to make new one for your laptop. And remove kexts not needed for your network card.
Please , after trying it , respond back about how it is working and if it is better than the previous.
Hope someone help us with a battery patch for accurate battery indicator. That seems the last issue to resolve.
-
No , i don't know anything about sd card reader.
Last thing remaining is the battery inaccurate indicator. That needs some skills for acpi hotpatching. I cannot do it myself.
If anyone can please help.
-
i don't use the sd card reader so i have it disabled.
Do you have the same opinion as me , that macos is better on this laptop rather than windows 10 ?
-
I have a dw1560 and the kexts in my folder required for this are : AirportBrcmFixup.kext , BrcmFirmwareData.kext (or brcmfirmwarerepo.kext at l/e) and BrcmPatchRAM2.kext.
-
So, how you connected the dw1830 ? Only the 2 antennas ? And how is the perfomance?
-
No , no need to change anything.
debug_24997.zip is for @Jake Lo , in case of helping us getting a optimised configuration , by an expert.
-
Sending you new dump files after Bios update and ram upgrade.
-
@Jake Lo, can I ask for a big favour ?
As you can see , after a a lot of readings , I managed acpi hotpathing on this laptop. But ,as I'm far for an expert, I always wonder if that is the best for my system.
If you' have the time could you make acpi hotpatching for me , from scratch ?
I really thank you.
-
Oh, thanks for correcting me.
-
@gebele04, yes kexts will be still loaded. You can delete RealtekRTL8100.kext (but you will not have ethernet) and AirportBrcmFixup,BrcmFirmwareData and BrcmPatchRAM2 kexts , which are for dw1560.

Change OSID to XSID (to avoid match against _OSI XOSI patch) Change _OSI to XOSI, use with SSDT-XOSI.aml Change _DSM to XDSM (needed for _DSM injections, e.g. for HDEF, IGPU) Change ECDV to EC (so Mac OS knows about the Embedded Controller) Change HDAS to HDEF (needed for audio) Change HECI to IMEI (so Mac OS can natively use the Management Engine) Change GFX0 to IGPU (needed for graphics) Rename method UPRW to XPRW and use with SSDT-UPRW.aml to fix USB "instant wake" on sleep Rename method GPRW to YPRW and use with SSDT-UPRW.aml to fix USB "instant wake" on sleep change GPI0 device _STA to XSTA change I2C devices _CRS to XCRS
I'm not really in a position to make much comment... I saw nothing out of the norm or that was not applicable to your raw DSDT.
There are 2 problems , first battery readings from activity monitor are inaccurate (compared to bios, ioreg and coconut battery). Second problem is that brightness doesn't autmatically change when connect/disconnect power cord.
-
@Hervé, could you mind take a look at my acpi hotpatching ?
Thanks in advance for your time and all the help.
-
But it has 3 antennas and dell 5570 only two.
So , is there any workaround ?
-
The problem is that coconut is accurate. So , something needs fix about the configuration but I don't know how to fix it.
Yes , there are kexts for dw1560 in clover folder. As far as I know dw1830 doesn't need any kexts.
For now just keep using your laptop and if you find something wrong let me know.
-
Yes. When battery at 85% post a screenshot of coconut battery and activity monitor , as before.

@Jake Lo, for Intel UHD620 which platformid is more suitable ? 0x591b or 0x5916 ? Is there any advantage over the other ?
