Hello
i was hoping to get some help since I’ve forgotten most things about getting Hackintoshes working since its been so stable for so long.
Generally I keep Clover and supporting Kexts up to date every few months. Today I updated Clover and supporting kexts but the machine will not boot.
Just see the Apple logo.
I have a USB stick with an older Clover installer on it and i set verbose boot flag and saw the attached picture.
It seems to show:
It’s been running the latest version of Catalina 10.15.7 for a while.

I am not able to get WiFi Personal hotspot working between my iPhone and laptop - Any ideas on what might need to be done?
The personal hotspot is enabled and BT and USB Cable connection works. But Instant Hotspot does not work and getting the message after a couple of minutes appear:
Failed to enable Personal Hotspot on "iPhone"
Check to see if the device is turned on and in range of your computer.
- Laptop has WiFi and BT Enabled
- iPhone has WiFi and BT Enabled
- Both devices are paired
No Instant Hotspot icon ever appears.

Thanks @Jake Lo working now

Hey @Jake Lo I tried adding BrcmBluetoothInjector.kext along with BrcmFirmwareData and BrcmPatchRAM2 to have the following in /Volumes/EFI/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other
AirportBrcmFixup.kext
AppleALC.kext
BrcmBluetoothInjector.kext
BrcmFirmwareData.kext
BrcmPatchRAM2.kext
CPUFriend.kext
CPUFriendDataProvider.kext
FakePCIID.kext
FakePCIID_Intel_HDMI_Audio.kext
FakeSMC.kext
IntelMausi.kext
Lilu.kext
NoTouchID.kext
USBPorts.kext
VoodooBatterySMC.kext
VoodooPS2Controller.kext
WhateverGreen.kextHowever when adding these kexts the BT and Wireless stop working.

I have been running a Dell DW1560 on Precision 7510 however the BT recently stopped working.
As per wiki supported
Dell DW1560 NGFF/M.2 14e4-43b1 BCM4352 A/B/G/N/AC Y Y Y Y N DSDT/Brcm4360 patch
I used to use:
BrcmFirmwareData.kext
BrcmPatchRAM2.kext
However these now do not work and when dropping them in to CLOVER Kext Other directory the wireless stops working.
Wireless is working Ok with the most recent version of AirportBRCMFixup 2.06

No Idea why this was such a pain. Reverted back to using the other method to disable dGPU
No problem using Intel FB when doing it the other way.

@Hervé Not sure what I am missing here.
Any chance you could advise on what needs inserting?i have the following config :
https://github.com/nickelnoff/Dell-Precision-7510-OSX/blob/10.14/EFI/CLOVER/config.plist
these are the working keys:
<key>AAPL,ig-platform-id</key>
<data>
BQA7GQ==
</data>
<key>device-id</key>
<data>
GxkAAA==
</data>
then I think I need to set as follows:
ig-platform-id: 05003B19device-Id: 1B190000
I therefore set as follows:
But this gives Graphics Driver Failed to load as shown:
-
Do I need to select InjectId when setting platform is?
-
@kushwavez this I have already tried however machine stops abruptly
-
@Hervé all patching was already in place this is why I am puzzled to why I see this error.
193B0005 is what is defined in CLOVER Device Properties
I tried specifying it again (even though it is in CLOVER) as shown here:
however when starting I see:
not sure on next steps
-
@Hervé this is set in Clover device properties
-
@Jake Lo just to clarify this is what happens:
1.enable switchable graphics in the BIOS
2. Set Clover debug: -v -debug=0x100
3. machine seems to stop
wegnoegpu is set as well - tried booting withouttried setting 0x12345678 for igpu
same result. Tricky to capture due to small font size
Edit: attached best I could do screenshot
-
Ok @Jake Lo not actually a kp. Just no fb available.
-
@Jake Lo I put this in place and Set switchable graphics but her kernel panic
-
@Jake Lo I removed all patches until this bit i resolved.

Thanks @Jake Lo- managed to get booted up.
I seemed to have needed to clear other config renames out as well as SSDTs - not entirely sure what was responsible but now writing on very choppy graphics with the NV dGPU running.
Will try and disable. Any help appreciated.

@kushwavez agree to a point. Never used windows much on this system. I seem to recall when the system was first bought through I was getting a little bit not load more battery life. But then NVidia dGPU was not disabled.
i was however getting 3+ hours battery life with Ubuntu 18.04 though. Again with NV disabled. As you say could just be the OS but I suspect there is some thing draining since I’ll get jump decreases when doing things like rebooting.
another thing I have seen is that the fans can be noisy and then I’ll sleep the system and wake and the fans have quieted down and battery drain seems to have slowed.
@Hervé I removed the UEFI disabled method last night and ran a CMOS reset to get back to default settings.
Clover now shows (under Graphics option) both GPUs a present however unable to boot successfully back in to Mojave.
Kernel panic seems to occur followed by a reboot.
I tried removing boot option: -wegnoegpu
tried adding -nv_disable=1
tried adding checking InjectNvidia using FakeId: 0x12345678
any suggestions on how to proceed?
-
@Hervé Agreed my take on this the UEFI method was that if its not getting picked up in the IOREG then it's gone.
Any suggestions on other elements of the system to check to what might be draining battery ?
-
Thanks @Hervé was aware of these Skylake particulars.
On 10/12/2019 at 1:06 AM, Hervé said:Unsupported but not disabled dGPUs drain battery on Hackintosh laptops, hence why we always try to disable them through specific SSDTs.
The method I used to disable dGPU was via UEFI configuration method does this not have the same end affect as SSDT disabling?
-
I have pretty short battery life on my laptop (specs in sig).
Basically I am not sure why but in around 2 hours of web browsing the battery is just about gone.
I seem to have speed stepping working and the frequency can be seen to vary with the Intel Power Gadget.
However AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext does not seem to be loaded.
Any help appreciated.

Here's an updated EFI - not sure the last post was quite what I was using.
Kudos @Kernel_Pan1c for the USB-C fix.
Only thing looking for now is USB-C Hot plug fix.
@Hervé and of course the F11 F12 Brightness

@Ahmed Essam Here's my EFI Folder - same build as yours.
BIOS Disable the dGPU using the EFI Utility

@Hervé @Jake Lo Thanks for your help on this for the past month or so.
Attached is my final EFI zip which I am running 10.14.6 with. Post with archive if you see fit.
I have most things working and decided I can't afford to invest any time in trying to get the things that don't work working.
As far as I can tell these are the things that aren't working:
- USB-C
- Thunderbolt
- Not too worried since I only have one USB-C device
- F11/F12 Brightness keys - this I did have working through Karabiner but decided I preferred to keep the system "Clean" - Fn+B nd Fn+S work anyway for Brightness p and Down.
- Obvious things such as smart card reader and fingerprint reader and SDCard reader.
Following work ok:
- Display outputs
- Sound out from laptop
- Sound out over DP and HDMI
- 4k Display with additional 2 monitors
Battery seems ok but not great 2.5-3 hours - Windows and Linux however had less battery life.

Precison 7510: unable to boot after updating Clover

Definitely went to r5126 from I believe r5122. I have r4910 on a USB stick but I get the same error:
Err(0xE), 0 @ LocHB 71B4903C-14EC-42C4-BDC6-CE1449930E49
When booting verbose with either version. So i suspect there is a new supporting kept that doesn’t agree. I replaced about 8 of them earlier however I don’t have the exact list or path as to where they are to exclude.
