  1. Why don't you first try this iStat_pro.wdgt_wBattery.zip
  2. To see battery status in istat we need a DSDT fix, which is why you don't see the battery status nor power status with istat.
  3. I found this They mention of how to fix non working wifi cards. I myself use a USB wifi card, since my built-in wifi is intel. But yeah, You basically need IO80211Family.kext and IONetworkingFamily.kext from 10.6.7. If there is something you should look for when in Pacifist, I think these are the files.
  4. The only thing that comes to my mind is you replace the AppleACPIPlatform.kext and IOPCIFamily.kext with the ones from 10.6.7. Make sure you delete the original files first, and then put the ones I attached in your S/L/E folder. Repair permissions and rebuild kextkache, I recommend Kext Wizard. Here.
  5. Beeson, I am really sorry man as I feel I messed it all up cuz two different issues got into the same thread. Anyway, what do you have as a computer? D620 => Macbook 2,1 boot plist, D630 => MB 3,1 plist, both posted here. What I would suggest for your wifi card is just to rebrand it as Airport! Download Ubuntu, waste an hour of your life (if you are really confused) and may be 10 minutes if you are not Just rebrand your card. You should get native support in OSX if you do that, which theoretically is update resistible. GOOD LUCK!
  6. Do you want me to fix the DSDT I sent you for your resolution? And then send it back again to you? P.S. Ok, HERE, this is the same DSDT I sent you, only for 1440x900 resolution. Please, after you extract the dsdt file rename to dsdt.aml. Try and tell me if it works for you. -Simon
  7. What did you change/patch in your dsdt to get past the black screen? Is it the case that your screen is WXGA+ having a resolution of 1440x900 or is it something else? The dsdt I gave you should work for Intel X3100 with resolution 1280x800.
  8. I want you to test this dsdt.aml and tell me if you get past the error. It is modified to work basically with the new 10.6.8 kexts. Download, put it in the /Extra folder. Repair permissions and reboot. Don't forget to delete SleepEnabler.kext if you had one in S/L/E!
  9. Give me the exact specs of your D630, I am cooking a dsdt in the moment that hopefully and finally will end our troubles with this nasty AppleACPIPlatform.kext as well as IOPCIFamily.kext. There lies the problem for you not being able to boot. I am asking you this because it matters if you have nvidia or intel graphics.
  10. See, I know that by removing the BCM5751 kext or by disabling it from the bios will solve the issue with the slow reboot/shutdown times. Thing is I occasionally use it, plus I already signed into the apple appstore using this network adapter, so If i disable it or remove the kext, I get the GUID issue when trying to log in to the appstore. Thanks for the bluetooth. Will try and report if this works.
  11. Roll back to the AppleACPIPlatform.kext and IOPCIFamily.kext from 10.6.7 and you should be good to go
  12. Thanks, I noticed that as well. Doesn't seem to change anything for me, though. I always hate rebooting after I put my notebook to sleep cuz the whole process takes up to around 2 minutes until the computer boots again. First is the f*****g BCM5751 ethernet adapter that causes the system to hang on black screen for at least 20 seconds before it reboots/shuts down, and then I have to wait for at least another 15 second for the cold bios boot - that's around 35 seconds so far. And then at least 45 seconds for the OS to boot. Here's more than a minute of plain waiting. So... This is why I said I want those fixed for the next EDP. Thanks for your time anyway Bronx!
  13. Didn't see no kernel extensions only Darwing boot flags.
  14. For EDP 1.9 I wish: 1. I would be able to put my D630 in sleep mode while on power adapter. 2. I would be able to use VoodooHDA with no sound delay without the help of soundflower. 3. For a better power management so my processor doesn't go from 2.2 GHz to 1.2GHz after I pull the power cable. 4. There would be no prolonged waiting shutdown/reboot times because of the AppleBCM5751 kext. 5. I would also wish my computer would not have to do cold bios boot every time after sleep. This is all I can think and hope for now.
  15. Man, you simply need a proper DSDT for your screen. I have one for 1440x900, for your screen! This is a modified EDP 1.8 DSDT to work with 1440x900 screens with X3100 on D630. Simple as that. Here's the link to the dsdt itself http://cl.ly/0Q0r2h1V1E092G1C1U2y. I will setup a custom Preboot image for you to use and install OS X properly. Try it and report your success/fail story. Forgot to mention you need A17 BIOS for this DSDT to work. EDIT: OK, I created a BootCD.iso for you. LINK If you want to use this to prepare your Bootflash with Snow Leopard just copy the Extra folder from the BootCD.iso to the / of your SL installation flash drive. Install Chameleon on the flash drive, you should be able to successfully boot your installation flash in 1440x900 resolution with mouse and keyboard drivers working. Good Luck!
  16. So it's all smooth like butter for you with 4 gigs of ram and nothing of the above I wrote applies for you?
  17. Hello everyone, Lion is not faster than Snow Leopard, at least not for me, at least not when talking about animations and transitions. It feels heavy and choppy when it comes to that, leaving impressions that it's being run on a very slow computer. About overall performance, it performs good in normal things like copying files, opening apps, listening to music, and stuff like that...you won't feel any difference between SL and Lion there. But man... try going full screen with quick time... mission control animation is just unbearable. Mission control lags a lot when you have more than one Desktop and more than 3 applications open in one desktop... Expose lags like hell. Moreover, try opening a folder within Launchpad with a dozen of icons in it, I feel as if I am reading a comic book. No real smooth transition there either. Even resizing windows feels choppy. At least for me this is something that bugs me a lot, people who don't care about animations and transitions might find Lion relatively fast. To wrap up, I am running Lion on a D630 equipped with C2D T7500@2,2GHz, 2GB of DDR2 667 RAM, 320GB 7200RPM Hard drive, X3100 144 MB shared memory video. I saw a couple of videos on YouTube from people who filmed their old white Macbooks(similar specs to my D630) running Lion, and it lagged for them the way it lagged for me. Soo... anyone who says Lion is faster is either blind or did something more in terms of optimizations and kexts than I did. Anyhow, Lion is still a no go for me. You decide for yourself how the 950 performs next to the X3100 as I feel this is the only weak spot we have when it comes to running Lion.
  18. I created this Chameleon theme today. I hope you guys like it. Screen size 1280x800. Download
  19. Great! Thanks! It installs now, and it is working! I now have DP4 up and running on my D630 thanks to you! May be you should do a definitive guide for our systems. Lion is still a bit choppy, but I guess it is due to low RAM and bad graphics, otherwise it is working 100%! Need to do some testing now Thank you once again!
  20. I tried everything you suggested. Still no luck getting it to install. Constant lock ups no matter what I try. I guess it has something to do with the BIOS version and how it's configured. DP1 installed without any issues. I don't know what's changed since DP1. I use A17 Bios with dsdt.aml from the latest EDP1,8. I am desperate to see that most people get it installed and I have no luck with it Cuz I am sure that once installed it will boot fine... with my current dsdt and kexts.
  21. And where do you download the new edp 1.9 from?
  22. Hello everyone, I have a D630 with intel graphics. I use this method to prepare a bootable Chameleon flash drive with Lion DP4. Flash drive boots successfully. I choose my Destination Partition for Lion and then when the install process begins, the installation just freezes! I cannot move my mouse or anything... and this is as far as I get.... Can you help or just share your method of installing DP4 on your Dell laptops? Thanks in advance! -Simon
  23. Are you running the latest version? If not, update to the latest version and see if the problem persists.
