  1. Hello Jake

Apparently not. Doesn't show on system profiler.

I have two graphic controller showing up, Intel GMA4500, and Intel HD Graphics. And for Intel HG Graphics, it says there is no kext loaded (and no QE/CI listed either)

Which is weird because in Extra/Extensions I have :

    AppleHDA.kext

    AppleIntelHDGraphics.kext

    AppleIntelHDGraphicsFB.kext

    AppleIntelHDGraphicsGA.kext

    AppleIntelHDGraphicsGLDriver.bundle

    AppleIntelHDGraphicsVADriver.bundle

[edit : rebuilding the cache killed my build... my list of kext isn't to be trusted... :((   ]

oh, and GraphicsEnabler=yes in org.chameleon.boot.plist (Intel HD Graphics don't show up in system profiler if set to =No)

Anyway, I've tested a couple of videos and it was fine (mp2, mp4). Games suck (CSR Racing for example) but I wasn't expecting any substantial performance in 3D either.

The dvd drive (integrated in the dock station of the laptop) seem buggy, but I haven't fully investigated that yet.

You should have more than just those 6 kext in E/E, i.e. fakesmc, lspci, ...

Are you seeing this in profiler

  2. Thank you Bronxteck. Then that settles it : if I want wifi, i'll need a hackintosh compatible wifi usb key.

My ML x201 runs fairly well. Boot time is rather long and the machine runs a bit hot, hibernation mode is more like a death mode (the USB ports won't wake up after the machine goes to sleep), wifi doesn't work, and it is not Maverick. But it is definitely usable. Thank you guys.

I'll keep you posted if something new pops up, and feel free to ask anything.

Do you have full QE/CI enabled?

  3. Thanks Bronxteck, swapping the antennae seems to have fixed the wireless N network speeds at home, in the office it is still pretty bad(although better).

I think this is probably because of a cheap wireless access point here.

Smeedy, yes I think that is right. I'm pretty sure my CPU reaches more P states when using MacBookPro8,2.

Check with HWMonitor plugins or MSRDumper(or anything else anyone can recommend) to see which P states you are reaching.

I haven't attempted the VGA patch as I currently have no need for it so I can't help there unfortunately.

I am part way through patching AppleHDA though. Hopefully I can get this working and will share if I do!

    Cheers

    peekstar,

Have you try my new guide for Mavericks with boot pack? Included is a fixed AppleHDA.

  4.

myfix didn't help, but -f did the trick.

    Does audio work? - YES

    Does HDMI work? - YES

Does HDMI Audio work? - YES

Sleep works, that's confirm - NO, stopped working with -f, screen just goes black

Does it sleep and wake when closing and opening lid? - NO

Screen brightness is controlled by Fn+Pause and Fn+F3 or Fn+up  and down button - YES

Audio control is by the right side - YES

Keyboard backlit is controlled by Fn+right arrow - YES, it's a hardware feature though

Screen snapshot is by Fn+PrintScrn - YES

    Fn+F1 for sleep - NO

tab power button to wake - YES

wireless card - NO, BCM4313 - maybe I already have something compatible at home

ethernet - NO, BCM5761 - I think I just have to find a proper driver

Is there anything I can do about sleep mode?

    EDIT: HDMI results added.

Have you try manually putting it to sleep?

Try this for you LAN card http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/79-bcm5722d/

Intel wireless is not supported. Need to be replaced.

  5. okay, got chameleon working again

proceeding with the next steps... (at my own pace, i'm a noob  -_- )

So you're able to install ML with Leon's boot pack?

Can you confirm your maximum display resolution? You could check that in the BIOS too.

  6. It worked. Awesome! Thanks, guys!

I was able to install Mavericks, however the installed system automatically goes to sleep after a couple of seconds, so I'm only able to use it in blocks of about 5 seconds. Is this a common / known problem? Could a bios update fix the problem? That machine never saw a Windows installation, so a bios update might be a major pain...

Run myfix (full). See if that helps with the automatic sleep. If not, add a -f switch to the boot.plist.

Can you confirm a few things?

    Does audio work?

    Does HDMI work?

    Does HDMI Audio work?

    Sleep works, that's confirm

Does it sleep and wake when closing and opening lid?

Screen brightness is controlled by Fn+Pause and Fn+F3 or Fn+up  and down button

Audio control is by the right side

Keyboard backlit is controlled by Fn+right arrow

    Screen snapshot is by Fn+PrintScrn

Fn+F1 for sleep, tab power button to wake

You'll have to replace the wireless card I believe.

  7. oh, and by the way, I get the same issue with ML too... (Edit : I get the same issue with ML if I don't use the x201s Extras. Because with the Extras, I can boot properly and get a proper install screen too. No keyboard though. Not yet. But I'm trying a workaround... Maybe I'll be able to install ML. Work in progress... Anyway, I'd still appreciate any help you may have to get me out of this mess)

    desperately need help  :$

    Maay

    Maay,

Try adding the attached files to your bootpack. If you have voodooHDA, remove it and AppleHDADisabler as I've included a patched AppleHDA. Remember to run my fix(quick).

    Extra.zip

  8. I'm trying to install Mavericks on my E5420, however I'm not even able to boot into the installer. As soon as I get past the boot messages, this happens:

    CfqmgPr.jpg

I've tried using both the E5520 and generic Extras, setting the graphics mode at the boot prompt, booting with -x, playing around with GraphicsEnabler... nothing helped, only the pattern looks differently each time.

    System configuration:

    CPU - i5 2520

    GPU - HD 3000

    Display - 1600x900

    Bios - A01

    Any ideas?

Give my bootpack a try. You should consider upgrading your BIOS too.

    Extra-E5420_Mav.zip

  9. I can confirm that the applehda kext works great however i can not get audio over the hdmi there is not a option to do it

another problem is to get the usb 3 driver. I can get the driver to work but as soon as I gets to the loginwindow the computer goes to sleep and it cannot wake up. If i boot the machine without cache the driver works but sleep does not.

If I use the roolback usb driver the sleep works but only usb 2. I´m on 10.9 and has a e6230 with i7 cpu, 8 gb ram, 240 GB OCZ HD and a wlan card from a imac. When I´m on the roolback driver the camera does not work either

I hope that you ho are reading this understand what i´m writing.

If someone has any tips or tricks I´m happy to give it a shot

This thread is about E6320 and should not have any USB 3.0 ports and the AppleHDA (92HD90Bxx) attached above is for Exx20 models.

If you have an E6230, then use bootpack files here. Don't include the SSDT as you have different processor.

  10. Hi Jake Lo, as usual, thanks for your help.

Something weird happens, I installed the kext using kextUtility and after reboot I lost the sound. I don't know if it was a user problem (me) or what, so I decided to run MyFix to try to repair and return to the previous status. That worked, I was able to recover the sound and also the jack headphone are working. So, basically, I don't know what I do wrong or what I do ok but is working :D

    Regards

    Alejandro

KextUtility install file to SLE, you should stick with myHack when you update kext. Put new kext in E/E, run myHack/myFix (quick).

  11. Ok, so I've made it to the installation now and first reboot.

Here is what I did to get it working...have a few other issues now, please see below if you can help:

    1) Create myhack USB bootable disk.

    2) Download/Install chimera (chameleon, stolen and rebranded) onto the bootable disk, this has IGPEnabler=Yes support by default for the HD2500 graphics card.

    3) Download the natit.kext files, as well as the Intel graphics kext from this link: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/286092-guide-1st-generation-intel-hd-graphics-qeci/

Extract those and put them in the Extra Extensions folder on the USB disk.  Run a myfix on the disk.  It should then add/update those new kext files to support booting and the graphics card.

Files from that link are for 1st generation Intel HD graphics, you have a 3 generation Intel HD graphics.

  12. For me this appears to be completely random, i.e. sometimes it will appear green, other times will appear orange. But, if I keep on removing and re-adding the ethernet interface it will work fine; I guess that's the only workaround for now. I need a ethernet port, I havent switched to a macbook air I have here just because of this, but I dont mind having a faster processor this dell has :)

PD. I believe that the ethernet works fine and reports the right status if you connect it to a switch or whatever you'll be using it, at least thats what happens on my case.

This new version of AppleIntelE1000e seems to have fix the issue.

  13.

I'm desperate, I've tried everything. That still does not work and I have to reinstall every time Mavericks because my keyboard and my mouse does not work.

On the forum, people with a E6330 managed to install the multitouch, I have to miss a step: (

    Do you have any solutions?

You don't need to reinstall every time. Just boot with your USB Installer, run myHack and install Extra, point it to the boot pack. As for multitouch, some members mentioned they use v5 on their E6330. Give that a try.

  14. Help!

I've almost got my 10.9 installation working like a charm on my E6530. Even the trackpad and keyboard and working, but even after replacing the original Intel Wireless with a DW1510 I purchased off eBay I've not been able to get the wireless working.

System profiler can see networks and it looks like the drivers for the card are installed and working, but trying to get it to choose a network fails every time. The menu bar icon causes a beach-ball whenever clicked on and the System:Network prefpane won't let me choose a network (drop down is greyed out).

Screenshots attached showing pretty much all relevant screens.

I've rolled back airportd and I've also tried the work-around where you go via "Assist me..." to select the network, but that always results in my wireless password being refused (despite definitely being correct).

I'm a bit at a loss. I've tried using MyHack to rebuild the kernel caches etc. Hasn't helped.

My next step is to try and re-brand the card with an Apple device id, but I'm also struggling to get the card to rebrand, basically when I do the `find /sys/devices -name ssb_sprom` step there's no results returned. It isn't due to multiple entries either, there's just no results. I'm not sure whether this is related or not at the moment...

I'm at the hair pulling out stage, so any advice or tips on what to check next would be gratefully received! :)

DW1510 should work OTB, no kext, not roll back necessary. Perhaps you got yourself a dud there.

Run lspci -nn and see if it's really what you thought you bought.

It should look like something below

Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4322 802.11a/b/g/n Wireless LAN Controller [14e4:432b] (rev 01)
  15. Ok, in the meantime, you could upgrade your installer to 3.3.1 by downloading it
Run myHack, select install myHack Utilities and point to the USB Installer
Then run myHack again and select Install Chameleon and point to the USB Installer
If you encounter the error below installing the utility, go to the installer S/L/E and delete myHack.kext and start again.

  16.

I reinstalled Mavericks, I start from zero

If I summarizes the steps to install the touchpad:
    1 / Remove ApplePS2Controller
    2 / Put VoodooPS2Controller in E / E
    3 / Put VoodooPS2Daemon in usr / bin
    4 / Put VoodooPS2synapsticPane in Library / PreferencePane
    5 / run myHack / myfix (quick)
    6 / reboot

    There are other steps?

If you have AppleACPIPS2Nub in E/E, remove that as well.

  17. Just one question : for the EDP package DMG

When i install do a need a internet connection because actually i no ethernet or wifi connection on ma laptop

yes, you need to be connected. Try this for Lan. Put it in E/E and run myfix(quick).

  18. Can anyone help get the drive back please?

Have you tried reseating the drive?

Go to the BIOS and see if it shows up there, under Modular Bay Device. Check your BIOS settings to see it you have disable anything under Miscellaneous Devices.

Better yet, set the BIOS to default. Apply and then go back and change SATA Operation to AHCI and disable Optimus. Apply, reboot and see if it appears.

  19. steno and trafsta,

Can you upload screenshot of the error?

Verify what version of the AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement you're using and for what version of OSX?

What version of OSX are you targeting for?

What version of myHack are you using?

In the BIOS, set it to default, apply, then go back and change Sata to AHCI. You can tweak it later once you got it running.
