I followed these directions with a fresh maverick install and the setup went by without a hitch. I have several of these at work we can convert over to OSX now!
Glad to know that instruction and bootpack works on GM too.

Remove AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement and replace with NullCPU. Run my fix

Boot with -v switch when you select the myHack OS Installer.

Hi,
I was able to install MAC OS X 10.8 with myhack and extra package from the e6230 i7 bootable.
I downloaded and installed EDP but havent run the configuration yet.
I still dont have audio, camera, trackpad working. I am guessing once I apply EDP build these will get fixed.
Before I do the EDP build is there anything I can do so if something goes wrong I can go back?
Which EDP build should I run? E6230 i7? my 6230 has an i5 processor.
Finally, can I just update to 10.8.5 or do i have to do another myhack with 10.8.5 on it?
Please advise,
Thanks!
You could use the bootpack and guide here for E6430. It's for an i5-3320M. If you have different CPU, just leave out the SSDT's.
Once build and rebooted successfully, you can go ahead and upgrade to 10.8.5 without issue. You might get an Install Failed error, but you could check that it did install.
If you want to try Mavericks, I just created a new guide here. Tested on both E6430 and E6230.

E6x30 with Intel HD 4000
Credits:
Special thanks to myHack (conti)
EMlyDinEsH for the patched DSDT and AppleHDA
Zenith432 for GenericUSBXHCI - USB 3.0
qwerty12 for DisableIntelTurboBoost for Power Management
And everyone who contributed to get Intel HD 4000 QE/CI
Specs:
BIOS A11 | i5-3320M 2.6GH vPro| 8GB DDR3 | Intel HD 4000, 1366x768 | Rebranded Dell DW1510 | Mavericks GMWhat's working:
Full QE/CI
Keyboard and mouse (no multitouch) - For multitouch, follow this.
Audio - thanks to EMlyDinEsH for the patch
HDMI - Video and Audio
Sleep - thanks to EMlyDinEsH for the DSDT/SSDT files
Wifi - replaced Intel Card with DW1510 (rebranded)
LAN (AppleIntelE1000)
USB 3.0 (GenericUSBXHCI)
Webcam (OOB)
Let's get started...
I use the myhack method for this build, so follow instructions to build your USB installer, set BIOS settings and run the OSX Installation from here http://myhack.sojugarden.com/guide/
For best results, set BIOS to default, apply it and then go back to set Sata Operation to AHCI- After creating your USB installer, run myHack again
- Select Install Extra and point to the Extra folder attached (extract it first) Extra.zip
- Boot up system with USB installer disk with the -v switch (use USB 2.0 port on the left, USB 3.0 ports don't always work)
- Format the HDD per instruction from myHack
- Select "Use my Own" when prompt and point to the Extra folder in the root of the USB installer drive
- When prompt to remove problematic kexts, select Yes, Yes, No
- If you get an Install Failed error towards the end, that's fine, restart the computer. Remove the USB installer drive
- Complete the customization ( if you get Invalid Partition Table during boot - just hit enter - find fix under Fixes below)
- That's it, there's no #9
Important:
- If you have higher resolution (1600x900), replace AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext in the bootpack otherwise you'll get a blank screen after boot. AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext.zip
- Replace SSDT in Extra if you have an i5-3340M SSDT-i5-3340M.zip
BIOS UPDATE
- E6430: Don't update BIOS to version A13, causes screen artifacts!
- E6230: Don't update BIOS to version A12, causes screen artifacts!
Fixes:
- If you encounter "Invalid Partition Table" after the first reboot, just hit the Enter key to continue. To completely remove that error, launch myHack and select Install Chameleon
- If you encounter error above when playing DVD Player,
replace
DVDPlayback.framework.zip 2.86MB 13 downloads
in System/Library/Frameworks. Don't forget to backup yours first.

I edited the post to put the attachment next to step 2, you should see it there now.
Looking at your specs, I believe you have an E6430/E6530 with Nvidia Discrete Graphics (aka Optimus). You need to go to the BIOS, under Video and disable Optimus in order to successfully build this system.

Try this one.

Hello, not too sure if anyone is still following this topic -- but I was following your directions on how to install OSX onto my e6400. I tried using 10.8 . The install itself is fine but i don't have any admin accounts .. i was wondering if there are any resolutions for this issue. Other then that there are no issues.
The account you create on the first boot after installation is an Admin account.

Hi Jake,
I just noticed that both ML and Mavericks only use half of 8 CPUs in Latitude E6530.
Please see attached Mac system info picture which says only 1 processor and total 4 Cores, compared with the Windows picture which has total 8 CPUs.
Please kindly advice how to fix this.
Thank you and much appreciated.
David
"Ivy Bridge" 2.6 GHz Intel "Core i7" processor (3720QM), with four independent processor "cores" on a single silicon chip, a 6 MB shared level 3 cache
If you launch Activity Monitor, under CPU tab, below you'll see 'CPU LOAD'. Double click it, you'll see all 8 cpu.

I'll check what can I do about the wireless card, now about the Intel HD issue, do you know how can I get at least the Core Image you mentioned? Also, could you explain a bit further on this topic? I'm not sure I understand completely.
Thanks again!
Hope you have a little time to read through this, it's quite detailed. A lot of work by a lot of talented people brought this together and now it supports Mavericks too.

patel4prez, thanks a lot for your support, this is definitely the best tutorial I've seen for this model.
After being extremely patient, I was finally able to setup OSX 10.8 in my e6410; I have Bluetooth, LAN, Camera, Sound, Trackpad (with two-finger scroll) working, but I'm still having some issues though:
My Intel Graphics are looking good, but it's not performing adequately, my resolution is fine but the transitions are slow and sluggish, videos play slow and launchpad freezes for a couple of second then works. I also saw that in system information the graphics are listed as unknown with no Kexts loaded, see screenshots.
Also my WiFi is not working.
I tried both suggested methods in OP to fix both devices but it's still not working. Any ideas what could be wrong?
These are my graphic card properties:
This is my system:
This are my wifi card properties:
Thanks!
Intel Centrino Wireless is not supportedl, you'll need to replace with a supported card found here.
Your E6410 does't have an NVidia card, it has the 1st generation Intel HD graphics card. At most you could get Core Image, but not Quartz Extreme.

No familiar with this card, can you list the ven/dev with lspci -nn
Does your audio device shows up in the the BIOS as 92HD93?
If so, the AppleHDA should work. -
Anybody have success on a 9010 All-in-One Optiplex?
I've tried two now, one with A07 and the other with the latest BIOS.
Both are legacy, no secure boot and AHCI.
The A11 will sit at the "Still waiting for the root device" screen. So I went to another machine and then get...
Bios A07 will just go blank and you can't see what the verbose mode is saying/doing.
I'm thinking the video is the issue at this point because it seems to be sitting at the installer window. No way to know though.
Thanks
Can you list the specs of the machines to determine what GPU they have?

Check E/E and see if ApplePS2Controller is there. If it is, try running myHack/myfix (full). Then reboot.
For the E6230 model, you could try using my Extra files here or link on my signature under E6430.
Although you have a Broadcom Wireless card, that model is not supported. Personally I have DW1510 which works OTB. -
From terminal, enter lspci -nn and display result here. Most likely it's an Intel Centrino and it's not supported. Replace it with an Atheros or Broadcom.
Hmm, are you sure you have an E6220 not an E6230? I though USB 3.0 only appears on Exx30 models.
My E6220 has (2) USB 2.0, (1) HDMI, and (1) eSata port.
Anyway, try solution here.

could you please point out how and where i can change this setting with chameleon wizard?
Launch Chameleon Wizard, under org.chameleon.boot tab, on the bottom right is Graphics Mode. Check it and change the resolution with the drop down.

Hi Jake, many functions are working on my Hackintosh now. I'm really appreciate your help.
Right now I'm having problem with USB 3.0 ports are not usable with Logitech mouse, USB Wifi and other USB 2.0 devices. Could you please help me with this.
Thanks,
Replace GenericUSBXHCI with the latest version here to Extra/Extension. Run myfix (full)
Add -gux_defer_usb2 to boot.plist

Attach your boot.plist so we could see what's causing the issue.

Hi every, I got ML 10.8.5 running on Dell Latitude E6530 but there are several functions are not working correctly. Could you give me advices?
1, Working:
- Graphics Full HD (1920x1080) with QE/CI
- VoodoHDA (both speaker & micro)
- Ethernet
- USB (HDD, USB Flash, Mouse are working correctly)
- Battery management
- Internal & External mouse
- Anygate USB Wifi
2, Not working correctly
- Volume control (I can adjust but without affect to the sound)
- Touchpad (scrolling, 2 fingers, multiple fingers) -> I tried with all of the PS2Controller in EDP for E6530
- iDevice (I could see the iPhone in About -> More Info -> System Report -> Hardware -> USB but iTunes & XCode couldn't recognize devices: iPhone, iPod, iPad)
- Could not type the character ` (I copied it from virtual keyboard in Google). Here is the character for key above the "Tab" and next to "1": § (shift ±)
Could anyone give a solution or a hint? I really need the Hackintosh can recognize idevice.
Thank you very much.
Try my Extra folder here. Will fix a lot of your issues.
-
Try holding the FN+ UP Arrow or FN+Pause, will the backlight lit up?
If you let it sit for 2-3 minutes, does it goes to sleep or shutdown?
If the former, add -f to your boot.plist.
-
Files are in this post. If it hangs on Bluetooth, it means your graphics is not loading. Try replacing your Extra with his and retry.
-
Actually I was able to get 10.8.5 running with everything working - my issue was I need to boot the USB with the -gux_defer_usb2 flag in order to get to the installer. Though I quickly moved on to 10.9 to see if I could get that working
You're probably installing from USB3 port and not USB2 port. And yes, you need that switch if you're using Zenith432's GenericUSBXHCI kext.
-
This is the problem I'm having too - everything else works perfectly though
What's the trick to making the settings persist?
Try gohmac's applescript here. It sets the value at startup. Post #128 above and #129 with instruction how to do it.
-
Ok, I let the system automatically reboot itself this time instead of jumping the gun. It still reboots (with the USB stick OUT) into "Invalid Partition Table!"
Hitting enter there let's it move into an option to boot to the partition... Then it's hanging at IOUSBFamily is having trouble enumerating a USB device...
Sounds like myHack didn't fully complete before rebooting. Boot with your USB Installer with -v npci=0x2000 GraphicsEnabler=No
On the OSX Installer screen, select Utilities, then myHack. Install Chameleon and then run myfix(full).
