  1. I did not get my BCM94360CD (with BCM20702A0) to enable HandsOff.

WiFi works OOTB. Bluetooth will *not* be recognized OOTB. Only USB-Tree shows BCM20702A0.

If I install latest BluetoothDevBroadcomInjector.kext Bluetooth is recognized (Yipieh!) but HandsOff is shown as disabled in Systemprofiler.

If I install BTFirmwareUploader.kext instead BluetoothDevBroadcomInjector, the system.log shows these entries after reboot:

    12.02.16 02:25:38,000 kernel[0]: BTFirmwareUploader :: ProductID 0x22be, VendorID 0xa5c

    12.02.16 02:25:38,000 kernel[0]: BTFirmwareUploader :: Broadcom WiFi/BT combo Bluetooth controller found

    12.02.16 02:25:38,000 kernel[0]: BTFirmwareUploader :: Device is Azurewave 4352/4360 combo

    12.02.16 02:25:38,000 kernel[0]: BTFirmwareUploader :: Using device specific firmware v14 c5577

    12.02.16 02:25:38,000 kernel[0]: BTFirmwareUploader :: Started the upload of firmware (70014 bytes)...

    12.02.16 02:25:38,000 kernel[0]: BTFirmwareUploader :: Successfully patched the firmware.

But Bluetooth is not recogized then anymore in Systemprofiler and BCM20702A0 also disappeard from the USB-Tree!

Simple removing BTFirmwareUploader.kext did not help to get the BCM20702A0 recognized again after reboot.

I additionally had to unplug the BCM94360CD from the USB-connector on the mainboard and remove the power-cord from the PC for  a minute.

I verified this behaviour three times!

    Any ideas?

    Mainboard: GA-Z97M-D3H, Mac OS 10.11.1

PM me so i can debug and see if there is anything i can do.

  2. hi , i've installed bt firmware uploader 3.0.5 for 10.11 for my Broadcom BCM 943225HMB ( AzureWave AW-NB290H ) but didn't work... any help? Thanks

Please share your system log and ioreg (use ioreg app v2.1), so i can take a look.

And I've also integrated support for the Atheros bluetooth but buetooth works, but now bluetooth not disable

I've explained already that BT disable will not work for Atheros in first post due to its using standard bluetooth driver from apple. I experimented on this before but i could not find a good solution and you can disable BT only if you have Fn keys to do.

  3. I have some questions about the DSDT patch for ALS (Haswell). I'm not an ALS user, but I'm patching the UX305FA, and I'd like to avoid messing up the ALS for people who do want it.

In the UX305FA native DSDT, the _QCD method calls ATKD.IANE(0xC6), not ATKD.IANE(0xC7). (There is no _QDD.) Is there a good reason to switch _QCD to 0xC7?

Also, the native RALS method appears to be identical to the one in "ALS Patch (Haswell)" except that if the sensor is disabled, the native DSDT returns 0x190 (instead of your patch's 0x12C). Is this a significant enough difference that I need to binary-patch the DSDT to return 0x12C?

It can be 0xC6 or 0xC7, so it does not matter. For ALS, better use my patch instead. If you have issues then let me know so i can take a look and help to tweak it.

  4. Hi, I have a notebook asus N56JR.. I have a problem with brightness regulation [ Fn+ F5 ; Fn+F6  don't work]. I used the kext AsusNBFNkeys v2.5.5 (present in this site) and i tried to modify my DSDT.aml (Q0E e Q0F how explain in this site) but without success :(

Then I tried to use "another DSDT.aml " and with my surprise work bluetooth and webcam (ASUS USB2.0 Webcam)!! :) but resolution it's wrong and another things such as all "Fn keys" :(

I ask if it's possible mix my DSDT.aml (with corrections about brightness regulation) with the work part  (bluetooth and webcam) of the "another DSDT.aml" .

    Help please :(

Another DSDT is using my DSDT patches thats why they are working. Did you try applying attached DSDT patches ? Let me know if you still need help so i can patch for you.

  5. Hi,

I am using the AsusNBFnKeys.kext together with the AsusACPIBackLightPanel.kext and the dsdt patch you gave on this post.

    https://osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2167-display-backlight-driver-for-asus-notebooks/page-4&do=findComment&comment=40719

Im using the same hardware, Asus G73SW with GTX460m. (Running El Capitan 10.11.2)

In the logs it is complaining about :

19 Jan 2016 22:02:01 kernel[0]: AsusNBFnKeys: Cannot find the dictionary brightness

19 Jan 2016 22:02:02 kernel[0]: AsusNBFnKeys: Cannot find the dictionary brightness

19 Jan 2016 22:02:02 kernel[0]: AsusNBFnKeys: Cannot find the dictionary brightness

    Is there something missing?

Sorry for late reply as i've been busy. Can you send me your ioreg (save using ioreg app v2.1), system log and currently used DSDT ?

  6. Hi,

I installed your FN keys kext v.2.5.5 and all keys worked  except brightness keys f5/f6. So I try to compile the ALS patch using dsdt editor but it has compile error "object not found or not accessible from scope (PCI0.LPCB.EC0.RALS)

Could you let me know where did I go wrong.

    Thanks,

    Machine is Asus X501A.

Did you apply brightness Fn keys patch in DSDT ? Let me see your DSDT please.

  7. Sorry sherlock thanks for your comments/help but I don't understand your english.

Also, why do you post your HDA injector kext without your system spec, or which nodes you have ?

I have been doing hackingtoshes or over 5 years so I know what I am doing (most of the time) and know how to install/uninstall kexts (manually via terminal command line and via automated utilities like kext utility).

Why do I install kexts in /Library/Extensions ?

Because, since Yosemite, you can and should install NON-Apple kexts there.

I have several hacks and in all them running El Capitan, I install FakeSMC, AppleHDAxxx, USB Injectors, etc, etc in /L/E as they are all non-Apple kexts and they all work.

There's no need to put kexts in Clover/kexts folder - saves time (slightly) at boot time as there's no need to inject kexts into the kernel cache (that's how Clover kext injection works).

CodecCommander.kext works very well in /L/E folder (I did not read anywhere that states it should NOT be installed in /L/E nor that it does NOT support installation in /L/E).

Anyway, as a test, I uninstalled codeccommander.kext from /L/E and installed epadfix.kext (V2.2) into /S/L/E. On reboot, I have sound like before. HP works fine. BUT...after waking from sleep, I have no sound from speakers. HP's work fine.

Here's relevant system logs (there's nothing relevant in Clover logs):

Two issues I see with eapdfix.kext:

    1. It should be installable in /L/E (as well as /S/L/E) - should be an easy fix. Also, why is it using IOProviderClass EAPDHIKeyboardDevice and not IOHDACodecFunction ?

    2. it's auto detecting nodes incorrectly (see log and speaker node 0x14 and 0x1E).

I'm working on a fix as i got the issue. EAPDHIKeyboardDevice is meant for jack sense fix in old versions  (still keeping it as reference and might be useful in some cases for some one) to simulate Mute/Un-mute bezel pop up to start the audio stream.

EDIT: Check your PM for beta test please.

  8.  Well, v2.2 does NOT work for at least two people.

Just because it works for you does not mean there is no problem with v2.2.

I know. I told you it supports installation in /L/E -- like all non-Apple kexts should support.

    - why not ????

All non-apple kext should support installation in /L/E

    - well, as I said it does not work in /S/L/E. Even though audio works from boot, there's no audio after wake.

see attached system.log and codec dump

BTW, I have solved my problem by using codeccommander.kext but I am replying here to help Dinesh fix his kext.

I see a bug in my driver for your codec in scanning nodes because of SPDIF ping config. I have to debug a little to fix this, so i'll PM you a debug kext later today. Thanks for sharing your logs and dump.

  9. On my Acer 3820T running El Capitan 10.11.3, V2.2 EAPDFix.kext broke audio for me too.

After installing EAPDfix kext (in /Library/Extensions) I get no sound device (in or out).

I removed the EAPDfix.kext and audio is back.

BTW, I used your excellent audio patching guide (from codec dump to verbs commands to .zlib files) to kext create an audio injector kext.

UPDATE: I fixed my issue by using the EAPD CodecCommander kext by Timewalker and Rehabman (here). Default profile did enable the speakers on wake, but it disabled the HP's. I created my own profile that had a custom command to re-enable the HP's on wake as well. All good now.

Can you confirm old version of my kext ? i have not seen this issue in my testing. Please send me your system log with my kext installed so i can fix it.

  10.

Thank you Dinesh. This version works just as well as Final version. No issue with KP when music is playing and waking from sleep.

    Good :) Thanks for testing.

Okay after a couple days of testing, I run into the following problem.

After sleep the sound is okay, but the system panics after a few seconds and restarts. However it does not happen all the time. Maybe a difference between sleep and deep sleep.

    Any thoughts?

    Rgds,

    Simania

what about you ? Did you test new build i attached ?

Do you have kernel panic log for that boot ? Try to copy the kernel panic log from /Lib/Logs/DiagnosticReports next time for the last boot so i can find the KP details. Otherwise try to disable the auto reboot when KP by using the boot flag debug=0x100 and capture the screen.

PM me for beta test after testing new build attached if have issue.

Does it work on a cold boot? If not, then it's not an EAPDfix issue.

Try new build attached and test everything again.

  12. Hott,,

I found that on the UX305FA that the kext worked fine but the issue was the key code returned by my computer did not match the key code in the kext. Simple resolution was to patch DSDT, Rehabman has a kext ACPIDebug that will allow you to observe actual key codes of your keyboard for the function + key pair. The patches are on the first page of this post.

While OsXLatitude has made every effort to make the best product possible, manufacturers make odd changes at times and we must adapt and use patches to overcome obstacles. Please remember this is not "Apple Hardware" and if we wish to have fully supported software / hardware Windows is the only game in town.

    jhawk

I see. What they changed now ?

  13.

This kext should allow me to assign the Fn + F5 brightness up Fn + F6 brightness down. Unfortunately I can not assign the Combination keys.

Fn + f11-f12 volume works very well, etc ...

For brightness Fn + F5/F6 to work you need to patch DSDT and you cant manually assign these in OS X. Did you apply patches ? Send me your DSDT so i can take a look.

  14. Hello guys,

just a fast question. Settings for my codec are exactly the same as the one from the kext from #1. I tried all types of Fix and no luck.

I have no sound from the jack at all.. well sometimes i do but it's very rare. The thing is when i connect the jack it is recognized in Settings -> Sound. I can see "Headphones" there.

just no sound. i double checked the info.plist settings, and it's as it should be.

where can be the problem? AppleHDA maybe?

Do you have your codec dump ? Send me that dump and your current applehda files you are using so i can take a look.

  15. Hi @all. Going crazy with my Acer Aspire S3-951.

I bought a BCM94325HMB DW 1550 and got Wifi working. But the BT will not work. If i look in in System Report i can't see a Device in Bluetooth and USB. The VID is 413C and the PID is 8143.  I tried it in Windows, just for testing if the PCIe Card is ok.

If i have read everything right, then this should work with BTFirmwareUploader V3.0.5. I also tried the Injector only.

Nothing worked for me with El Capitan 10.11.1   :-(

    SMBIOS: MacBook Air 5,2

Any ideas? Who can help me?

    Markus

Send me your system.log from /var/log and ioreg file saved using IORegExplorer app v2.1 so i can take a look. Also which OS X version, boot loader you are using ? Where did you install my kext to ?

  16. I don't have yosemite any more.

    My laptop is Acer E1-571G

    I used SmartTouch 4.4.5 64bit

I used Clover in boot loader if it can be relate.

When I use SmartTouch I will miss keyboard to login so I can't find log :-(

I will test again with 4.4 version and I will feedback.

    --------------------- EDITE

I check the log, It was permission omitted kext.

I set root:wheel as owner and 755 for permission it's fixed and working well.

I'm using 4.5 version now. It's very better than windows elan driver. TouchPad is very responsive now THANKS.

    Thanks/

just a question when I used ApplePS2 and AppleACPINub kext in starting osx num lock was automatically ON

Is there any way to turn on Num-Lock when OSX starting up ?

Read my thread about keyboard features for that. You can enable/disable this in keyboard plist.

  17. I have Lenovo Y50 with El Capitan 10.11. I have been running RehabMan's Voodoo kext and now I installed your latest version, since I have an ELAN touchpad. I cannot disable the touchpad at all. Sometimes Fn + F6 works, but as soon as I plug in my wireless USB mouse, the touchpad starts working again. No matter what I do, every time I move the mouse, the touchpad activates again. Is this a bug? What can I do to fix this?

LE: Actually, Fn + F6 only disables the touchpad for the first touch only no matter if I have my mouse plugged in or not  :(

Without my driver installed, you can disable and enable the touchpad without issues (double check) ? If its so then PM me for beta test and i'll debug.
