  1. It works like a charm on El Capitan. Thank you. Gonna spare some buck for your hard work dude. Thanks.

You're welcome and Thanks for the support.

thanks for your answer, no worries for it being late. I updated to your latest one and everything is working fine in el capitan, except the play station controller. I`m not complaining, just want to let you know.

thanks again for your hard work.

I see. What happens when you try to pair DS3 ? How you are trying ?

  2. Possible Fix for Sleep/Screen Off Issue

The problem: The keyboard and trackpad refuse to work after waking up from sleep, or if the screen is woken from sleep state.

    Observable technicalities:

    1.  If the laptop is woken up from sleep - the trackpad/keyboard DOES NOT work.

    2.  If the laptop's screen falls asleep automatically due to time out - the trackpad/keyboard DOES NOT work.

    3.  If the laptop's lid is closed and sleep is disabled, on opening the laptop - the trackpad/keyboard DOES work.

    4.  If the laptop's screen is made to sleep using F5 and then woken up using F5 - the trackpad/keyboard DOES work.

    5.  If the laptop's screen is made to sleep and the lid is then closed, on waking - the trackpad/keyboard DOES NOT work.

    Possible fix:

On awake/lid open, test to see if the trackpad/keyboard are working.  If they are not:

Sleep the display using F5.  After the display has slept, wake up the screen using any key EXCEPT FOR F5 KEY.

Your trackpad/keyboard should be fully functional.

What is your touchpad vendor ? Did you try v4.5 as i've some fixes for sleep issue ?

  3. Just installed this on an Acer v5-573g running Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.5.  Works extremely well, especially after tweaking a few settings.

I have a couple of issues, however, which I'm sure can be fixed by modifying the info.plist files, but I'm not sure what to adjust.  I'm hoping someone who's had these issues can help out.

    1.  The major issue I'm having is that because my trackpad is a click-pad, if I rest my finger on the trackpad over the left-click button, and try to move the pointer with my other finger, it triggers some shortcuts (Cmd+L if I move my moving finger towards the stationary one) as far as I can see.  Is there a way for the driver to detect and ignore whether a finger is stationary?  Kind of similar as to how clickpads in both Mac and Windows function.  This can be emulated by using your right hand to move the pointer and the left one to click, but leaving your finger in contact with the touchpad between clicks.

    2.  Another minor issue I'm having is that I've disabled continuous scrolling, and enabled 2finger scrolling and inertial scrolling to get it to act as close to natural scrolling as possible.  This has a problem of content sling scrolling to occur if my fingers are stationary after scrolling, and then I lift them, even though I've disabled 2fingslingscrolling.  It gets annoying trying to scroll precisely.

Thanks, and awesome work on the amazing driver.

Edit: another issue - enabling/disabling natural scrolling in trackpad prefpane changes mouse scroll direction as well.

2nd edit: I'm also having issues with the keyboard and trackpad not functioning after sleeping/screen off.

Another issue I've also noticed on using this for a while: if inertial scrolling is occurring and you hold down Cmd/control, it zooms in even though you aren't actively scrolling.  Is this something that can be fixed as well?

3rd edit: 4-finger swipes sometimes get recognized as 3-finger presses, and 3-finger swipes sometimes get recognized as 2-finger presses.

Seems like i need to debug your case. If you have time then PM me for beta test please. Did you try v4.5 ?

  4. EMlyDinEsH,

Your driver is awesome in El Capitan, save for a couple issues:

    • The Backlight DSDT patch causes your KEXT (4.4.5 x86_64) to kernel panic the system on boot. (Will get a pic for you soon -- have to get a better camera)
    • I would really love to have the virtual buttons on my ELAN v4 to not contribute to gestures. I keep accidentally triggering the gestures just by having a finger on the "buttons," causing all sorts of unintended/weird effects.

Thanks for everything so far! Your driver is so awesome.

Can you try v4.5 and see ? If its there then PM me for beta test so i can fix it.

    Hi there,

Great little kext. I love all the customisation options. However I cannot get the 3 finger swipe back/forward to work. I've modified the PS2Keyboard kext to ISO mode (I do have an ISO keyboard) and tried several keyboard ID's, however it is a bit unclear to me which value I should be using. When you say 0x30 for example, am I supposed to set the value to "0x30", "30" or "48" (hex to int converted value)? Also, is there a definite way of identifying which layout I need to use instead of trial and error? For example:

    defaults read /Library/Preferences/com.apple.HIToolbox.plist

Gives me the keyboard ID recognised by the OS but I doubt it is the one I should be using since it did not work.

    Thanks!

Which ISO keyboard you have exactly ?  Tell me your keyboard from this : http://gate2home.comYou need decimal value in plist.

  5. Hi, I have small problem... I'm on El capitan, and everything works perfect, I love my touchpad now! and I love you Bro!

But I have problem with one thing when I type something on my keyboard, touchpad is not working, and it's okey, but when i click spacebar touchpad is turning on, and sometimes it click something... It's very irritating... If somebody know solution of this problem, please answer  :)

I mean that, I would like that if I click spacebar, touchpad will stay turn off, like while typing on normal keys  :)

Thanx a lot, because this kext is the best thing in my life!

Btw. I'm on Focaltech touchpad, kext v4.4.5

Did you enable "Ignore Accidental trackpad input" option in tracked prefpane ? If you enable then it will ignore touchpad while typing and will come back after a timeout which also you can control by editing plist. Read plist options and Accidental input feature to understand so you can config as needed.

    Hi

Thanks for the great work with the touchpad driver.

I have an Asus vivobook Q200 with i3-3217u packed inside with OS X EL Capitan running smooth. I have installed the touchpad driver but I was having a hard time trying to get the four finger swipe desktop switching. I remember it was working in mavericks with an old version of this driver.

please help me in getting the four finger swipe working to switch desktop spaces.

    Thanks in advance.

Did you try v4.5 ? Are you using any custom plist edits ? Tell me which version it was working in mavericks ?

  6. thanks its worked on dell inspiron 7520 perfectly but after installing it camera doesn't work anymore !

Strange. My driver is for touchpad and it wont affect USB webcam, so it could be something else and check properly again.

in my laptop not work, but thanks!

If your touchpad is ELAN/FocalTech/Synaptics (v7.5+) and installed my kext properly as i've explained then it will work.

This driver is awesome, but I'm confused why I can't just use my computer's Fn key instead of the Context key or the Shift+Caps shortcut.

Is this a setting I'm missing, or is this feature no longer in the code (I remember it used to work before).

Running El Capitan 10.11.1 on an Asus Q550LF (Elan V4). Currently in Fn mode 2.

For your Real Fn key, you have to install my AsusNBFnKeys driver and apply some DSDT patches if needed which i've attached in that thread.

  7. Kext: SmartTouchPad v4.5 Final

    Device: Synaptics ClickPad v8.1

Problem: After wake up from sleep, toucpad not working (USB working fine)!

And i periodic have problem with Alt key.

    This randomly not working!

When i press Alt+Space (for change language), language not changing, but Space wrote to string!

I bind "Show desktop" on Alt + F3, and periodic i cannot starting it.

I editing plist, but this problem have without any plist edit!

(Enable Fn Mode 1, change scroll to inertial, change smooth pointer to 1).

    Console log and IOReg:

    attachicon.gifConsole_log.zip

    attachicon.gifMacBook Pro â€” Dmitry - ioreg.zip

Seems like your touchpad is Clickpad and i've not seen touchpad like yours so far in beta tests because its acting diff according to logs. So if you can help me with beta test then i can solve your problems. PM me for beta test.

  8.

    hi,

there's some weird behaviour that started around version 4.4.5, and still present in 4.5, but wasn't present (or wasn't as prominent) in 4.4..

    1) Explain your problem clearly like how to reproduce it again.

on an asus zenbook ux305fa, with continuous two finger scroll and edge scroll completely turned off, if i scroll without intertia, e.g. not flicking, rather just leaving two fingers on the trackpad and dragging, when i remove my fingers, if i'm not reeeeally careful (and sometimes even then) the touchpad acts as if i did a fling. this is really irritating when trying to stop at a precise point in e.g. a webpage or pdf.

    2) Mention your OSX, boot loader and my driver version used to test.

i'm using 10.11.1 with clover uefi. versions 4.4.5-4.5. 4.4 seems a lot better, i think this has something to do with separating the different hardware versions in the Info.plist, e.g. ELANv4 ELANv3 etc.

my detected hw version is the ELANv4 clickpad.

    3) Send me your system log file from /var/log after boot and ioreg file saved using IORegistryExplorer v2.1 or lower.

i'll attach them if you really think it's necessary, but this seems like a configuration issue rather than directly hw related.

    4) Also provide info about any custom plist edits if you did.

i'll upload the modified .kext here for reference. i've edited the keyboard driver's Info.plist heavily, but the touchpad .plist is mostly default (aside from remapping four finger swipes etc.).

    thanks,

    bamdad

PM me for beta test as i need to debug your case.

  9. I've upgraded to El Capitan then the problem occured again. After period of time (random) the touchpad's losted control and the pointer floating to the side of screen (ramdom side too). If I plug the USB mouse, it's still floating until it's stopped, so I can control the pointer again with external USB mouse but the touchpad was lost until I restart.

    My touchpad is FocalTech

    pnp 00:06: Plug and Play ACPI device, IDs FLT0102 SYN0a00 SYN0002 PNP0f03 PNP0f13 PNP0f12

I attached the system.log and saved ioreg

    attachicon.gifPro.ioreg.rar

    attachicon.gifsystem.log.rar

Thanks for created aweasome kext. I found it worked better than Linux (I had triple boot)

Did you try v4.5 ? If its still there then try to remember what are the gestures and keystrokes you did before it happens. Also are you using any custom plist edits ?

How do I change sensitivity of click event? Sometimes I click on trackpad but nothing happens. I think press area is important not pressure. I noticed it fails if I click using just tip of the finger (even with high pressure). Also this happens only with one time click. Double click works well.

System: 10.11.1 El Capitano, 4.4.5, ELAN

Try v4.5 and see. If you still think its not sensitive then PM me so i can debug and find the reason. Also i have sensitivity plist option in 4.5 which is set to max sensitivity default.

  10. Hi, EmlyDinEsh. I noticed that the driver require synaptics version to be 7.5+, does it include version 7.5 or not ?

when using VoodooPS2Controller, I have the follow output:

VoodooPS2Trackpad starting: Synaptics TouchPad reports type 0x47, version 7.5

Will that touchpad supported by your driver?

7.5 may work if its not using pass-through packets. Try my driver once, if you want support then PM me for beta test.

    Bug report:

1, My device: MSI laptop GE60 2PC, Elan trackpad

    2, Yosemite 10.10.5, Driver 4.4.5

3, Problem: Can not disable trackpad when use mouse

I can not turn it off with the Fn key (F3). It will turn off but when I move my mouse (Logitech) or touch some on trackpad, the trackpad will enable.

I try to  set "Ignore built-in trackpad when mouse or wireless trackpad is present" in Systemprefs > Accessibility but the trackpad stays on.

I see in VooDoo driver, they run a daemon to enable this function (https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Voodoo-PS2-Controller), hope you can fix this issues, I read some one report the same in this thread.

My driver does not support that ignore option yet, but you can manually enable/disable touchpad using Fn key (Read Fn keys mode in my keyboard features).

  11. Hi,

    i have Asus UX21A. I have problems with keys F5 and F6.

    Work:

    Fn+F1 - sleep

    Fn+F2 - enable/disable BT + WLAN

    Fn+F3 - keyboard backlight down

    Fn+F4 - keyboard backlight up

    Fn+F5 - brightness down

    Fn+F6 - brightness up

It works on display a login and password to OS X 10.11. Once logged in, it stops working, but the brightness can be adjusted by a combination of SHIFT+F2 (down) and SHIFT+F3 (UP) ???????????????

    Fn+F7 - on/off LCD

Fn+F8 - on/off external monitor (I do not know is working or not, have not tested.)

    Fn+F9 -on/off trackpad

    Fn+10 - mute

    Fn+11 - Sound down

    Fn+12 - Sound up

    My kext:

    ACPIBacklight.kext

    ApplePS2SmartTouchPad.kext

    AsusNBFnKeys.kext

    EAPDFix.kext

    FakeSMC.kext

    IOAudioFamily.kext

    NullCPUPowerManagement.kext

    VoodooHDA.kext

How to make the keys work properly?
I should be grateful if you still advise how to do:
    1) 10.11 working display temperature and fan speed.

    2) The charge status and battery capacity

    Thanks !!!

    Is your problem solved ?

  12. I use Asus N550JK-DS71T with yosemite.

I just applied "Fn Brightness Keys Patch","Backlight PNLF-Intel-GFX0-Patch" and compile successful.

    but it has one problem...

if press fn+f5, OSD shows slider down but display brightness get more bright.

and if press fn+f6, OSD show slider up but display brightness get more dim...

Very strange. Let me see your DSDT with my patches. Also send me your system log (/var/log) and save an ioreg file (use IORegExplorer v2.1 app) so i can take a look.

  13. Sorry I can not write you, but I'm Polish and I use a translator .

After adding kext AsusFn the system does not display the icon CD-ROM drive (the bar at the top ), and are often mistakes and reboot the system.

Strange. Are you sure without my kext you have CD-ROM ? Double check and confirm me. If its so then PM me for beta test so i can debug.

    as far I know in my DSDT, _Q1D = f5 (brightness down), Q1C = f6 (brightness up) & _Q19 = f8 ...tested with ACPIDebug

    DSDT file attached ... thx

So you know methods used by brightness then manually edit them according to my patch and see. What are the Fn keys working and not working for you ?

  14. Everything is working good, but when I press fn+f7 to disable screen then I put computer to sleep and then I woke it up the brightness increase and decrease not working with fn keys. How to fix it?

Hi, I have the same problem as you.

As a workaround, sleeping the computer again fixes it for me.

May be Fn + F7 was not cleared after sleep. Try to manually turn on the screen at _WAK method in DSDT and see. PM me if you want my help so i can take a look and make a patch.

does anyone else have this glitch where simply pressing the FN key increases brightness by 1 value? I can lower the brightness using the fn + brightness down combo but i have searched thoroughly and I can't find anything?!

    acer v5-571p laptop

this is a annoying when i increase volume it always increases brightness by pressing the fn key alone..

    someone help? much appreciated

May be your Fn key is triggering brightness keyboard scan code. Which driver you are using for your touchpad and Keyboard ?

  15. I'm also having a kernel panic on a ALC1150. If you still need a screenshot I'm happy to provide you one.

    Regards,

    Simania

Guys is this thread dead? For a lot of users, this is a serious problem......

Sorry for late reply. I've had very busy life but still i was working on this problem with beta testers and fixed very recently. I've release update v2.1 to fix KP in 10.11 with some improvements and bug fixes. Please try that and let me know if you have problem. I'll be responding to all the queries next week.

  16. hello. I had ar 3012 working perfect with your file. I finally found in my country a wifi dongle (tp-link  tl-wn725n). It worked fine, but now my bluetooth is gone.

It seems connected, but not pairing, o finding any device, or being found on any device.

What could have happened? What should I do?

Let me know what do you need me to attach for you to see what could be wrong.

Thanks for your time, and your knowledge.

Sorry for late reply. Can you test my latest version 3.0 and let me know with system log and ioreg plz ? PM me for beta test if problem still exists.
