You saved my day. I tried everything for weeks trying to make my AR3012 (AR9485 combo) work, with no success.

But this worked perfect on El Capitan 10.11.

Just installed kext, and then restarted in windows, then mac again and BOOM. Now I`m listening music thanks to you.

GREAT JOB. I don`t have a credit card, but as my grain of sand I made a post submitting my success, with a link to your post, asking for people to consider donations to help your great work. I hope it`s ok.

 

I don`t have any way to turn it OFF, as I don`t have a button for that, but is nothing to worry. 

WORKS PERFECT, no delay.

 

Will be any fix for turning it off?

Do I have to run windows first, before OS X, every time?

 

I have one more question that I don`t know if is related:

Is AIRDROP supposed to work? I have internet via ethernet, and now bluetooth   , but it`s not working. Any clues?

Everything is working great, except for wifi (now it can wait), and obviously only integrated graphics (HD4000) even when my Lenovo U410 has also a Nvidia card.

I meant that i tried every last version of your kexts and the only one which works quite fine for me is 4.2 final. The mouse works just fine, except i can't double click by double tapping the pad and scrolling is very slow. 

If you're telling me it's difficult to get better and i should be grateful for having this working all ready then, it's good for me, i'll wait further releases and see. I have ton mention i'm under yosemite 10.10.2 now.

Hello. I have a problem with trackpad.  Movement is very unpredictable. 

I have Laptop Samsung R730. I install latest Clover and El Capitane OS. Almost everything is working. Trackpad is working well with VoodooPS2. 

But I try SmartTrackpad kext for keyboard extension and keyboard Numpad keys is working like I expect. But Touchpad - some time cursor move itself after sliding. Some time its position jumping.

 

I try to change some values like Acceleration and another but no result. I turn off many boolean parameters like 2 3 4 fingers and so.

 

Can I use for example just keyboard features? Or turn off any features for Trackpad ?

Strange. What is your touchpad vendor ? PM me as i have new build so i can debug and tweak your problem.

It will work only if you have ELAN, Focaltech and Synaptics (fw v7.5+)

I just want to say thanks, this works great. The problem is that my touchpad is really awful (in Windows too, it's just made like that) but with Smart Touchpad it's really behaving great. Sometimes there are wrong inputs but other than that I like it very much.

 

I've been using some modified VoodooPS2 before this, but this actually is better. Now some info.plist modding and I'll be good to go!

 

Also curious, are there any plans for a prefpane?

I'm glad that it works great for you. Please try to experiment with plist options and you will find your sweet spot easily as i've explained everything in my features thread. Prefpane is in the works but has my least attention as I'm keep changing plist a lot so I'm focusing on functionality and stability first.

problem with my synaptic touchpad & keyboard on Lenovo Z40 ( SYN2B36 - Synaptic V8.1)

If I use ApplePS2SmartTouchPad.kext :

 

STD : Could not detect touchpad (or) controller did not respond properly. 

The touchpad works as a simple mouse (no multitouch,gestures,not detected in Pref/Touchpad) but keyboard is not working.

 

If I use VoodooPS2Controller.kext :

 

Touchpad works the same but keyboard works.

 

My driver works only with synaptic touchpad fw v7.5+ Let me see your system log with my kext installed to confirm.

Hi Im a big fan of the Elan touchpad kext! Was just wondering if there is a way to use the Fn Key on my Asus N56 Keyboard to activate all of the FN Key functions instead of the right context menu? Ive tried doing this in conjunction with the ASUS FN hotkey driver but doesn't work at all when I have the Elan Touchpad kext installed. 

 

Your Fn keys should work with my AsusNBFnkeys kext. If its not working then PM me your DSDT with system log and ioreg.

When did you download EDP installer ? do you have EDP installed already ? Please try to install EDP again and let me know as i've checked right now and its working fine here. Also let me know your OS X version too.

I´m also on the 10.11 GM on my systems.

 

On my main system it generates a kernel panic. (ALC892)

In the meantime i´m using CodecCommander for it which is working.

But if prefer to use EAPDFix, so it would be really great if somebody can have a look on it.

 

On my Laptop it generates no kernel panic but the eapd fix is also not working as it should. (ALC269)

 

My settings are the same in the info.plist like on yosemite, where it was working without problems.

What is the KP message ? Can you share me the screen ? Also let me know your system log and ioreg so i can help you to fix this.

Some key combinations seems not to work for me.

I'm using Dell L502x with kext version 4.4.5.

It's impossible to register at the same time Command, Shift and P letter (EVERY other letter is working...) - checked using built-in keyboard view - letter just isn't registered.

Another one: Command, Shift, Space - when Spacebar is pressed, Command key automatically switches to "not pressed" state.

 

Also it seems to be impossible to disable my touchpad (Synaptics) by any soft way. Switch in Accesibility which should disable it when mouse is plugged does nothing more than disabling pref panel. Option to disable trackpad when "mouse keys" (not sure about english name) is enabled doesn't work too. There is Dell shortcut (Fn+F3 in my case) but it does nothing both in FN mode 2 and 3 (with Dell as vendor).

Seems like that command+shit+p has a bug and i'll fix this if you PM me for beta test please. And its not possible to disable the touchpad from accessibly settings or when USB mouse is connected in my driver. You can disable the touch pad using Fn key (Read my Fn keys mode) instead. Also some of the real Fn keys are different from system to system so what exactly you Fn + F3 does ? if you have explain them then i can add the support.

My driver is only for touchpad and controlling brightness Fn keys is not (which may need other kext or some DSDT patches read this:  How to Fix Your ACPI Brightness Keys Using Smart Touchpad Driver ). But you can control brightens using Fn keys of my driver instead.

My laptop is Asus N56VB, with Elan v3 (I guess) hardware. Does this driver support elastic band scroll efect? Like in real macs.

 

What you mean elastic band exactly (i did not own a mac so no idea)? PM me with a video and explanation to so i can help you with that feature.

I'm running Yosemite 10.10.5 on Lenovo Z50-70, i've tried every kext and installed them properly mouse is floating, can't double click, scrolling can't stop, always rolling up or down... I don't know what esle to do, everything else seems to work on my computer, sound, sleep, brightness control, sound keyboard control and batttery ( even if it goes down pretty quickly...)

What you mean every kext ? all are my kexts or others too ? Let me see your System log and ioreg with my kext installed. Also try to read documentation of the features i've explained to understand them as i have Z50 which is working fine here.

I have the AzureWave Broadcom BCM94352HMB/BCM94352 802.11/ac/867Mbps WLAN + BT4.0 Half Mini PCI-E Card and I've installed BTFirmwareUploader_v2.8.5_Final.zip.  Questions:

 

1) I'm not sure if I'm supposed to edit Info.plist in this kext or not.  I'm not clear about what to do here?

2) I just installed the kext as is, and Bluetooth shows up, but when I pair it with my iPhone 6, it pairs then immediately drops the connection.  Is there something else I need to do?

 

I'm running Yosemite 10.10.4 on a E6540.

I think the patch not match for my dsdt, so i can't apply..

For FnKeys as Function Keys Patch, i don't have _Q0A ~ _Q0F,  _Q13 ~ _Q15 & WiFi BT Toggle Patch (2 toggles), i don't have _Q0B, WBTS, OWLD, OBTD... you can check my dsdt in post #351 & #356.

fn button for all versions AsusNBFnKeys on my asus laptop can only work for f1 , f5 and f6 , otherwise it is not working .

 

but with shift+caps in ApplePS2SmartTouchPad , keys f1 - f12 can work well , except f2 ( on / off wifi BT ) that do not work (this is my problem )

Did you apply patches to your DSDT ? I've provided some patches in my fist post which are needed for some keys to work.

Which operating system you are using ? Can you PM me with your details as i had some issues with your device id before so need to check ?

I've installed Yosemite 10.4.4 on ASUS K450LD (X550A), with SmartTouchPad.kext v4.4 help me can use the TouchPad as nature but it's just working for a short time, the period is random then I lost the touchpad control, the pointer float to the bottom left of screen and always floating there. If I pluged external USB mouse, it's still floatting and can't control it. I can't turn off the touchpad with Fn hotkey after lost control.

My device is Acer E1-470G and it's working fine on OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 with your driver (ver : 3.8.5/4.2/4.3) ,

but there are still some problems:

1、When i wake up computer through the touchpad , the pointer will run everywhere on screen or out of response

      that i can't control it anymore unless i reboot the system.

2、If i use "Esc" to wake up the screen , sometimes the keyboard is not working.

Why you are not using 4.4.5 ? what is your issue with that ? PM me if its serious issue for beta test with details like your touchpad name and your issue in depth.

Can this be added soon? I think it would be an useful addition as many people with laptops other than Asus have keyboard backlights too.

Its not that simple and i dont' know how their backlight works. If they have some controls in DSDT then i can enable support.

I am having trouble with getting two finger scrolling to work on my ASUS UX303LB which has a Focaltech trackpad. I was wondering if you could check out why it isn't working. Also I was wondering when you will update the source. I am interested in how this works and maybe I could fix my problem on my own since you seem to be really busy.

Did you use 4.4.5 ? I have a beta tester for FocalTech and he did not share any issues. If you can explain your issue in detail then i can help you with that. PM me for beta test if you can. 

PS: Sorry still i'm not ready to share my sources yet and I'm still tweaking and working on this actively. But don't worry i'll share as soon as I'm done with things planned and stable enough for all of them. 

worked good z50-70 but on g500s, (élan i think) I find that likely undesired three finger left click too many search mac windows but at least they are in one tabbed window. If you want any more info let me know.

I did not quite understand your 3f left click issue ? Can you explain in detail ?

i tried last update everyting works same as before I noticed my brightness and volume controller become much sensitive I fix my numpad issue with your guide but I cant fix anyway my "f5" button it sould be normally disable my touchpad this function is working but it changes my brightness at the same time ( only when I reenable my touchpad. disable touchpad option is working fine). thanks for everyting

What is your system model ? You mean Fn + F5 ? or Fn keys mode 1 F5 ?
