-v -f GraphicsEnabler=No UseKernelCache=No I removed all 4 kexts of the AppleIntel****Graphics***.kext variety (I have backups of course). Not sure how to build cache on the USB stick. If what I'm doing already is not correct please let me know how to build cache on the USB stick. PS Now it randomly stops on one or the other Bluetooth error, which of course we know is not the problem. It is the graphics, except I cannot seem to get past it.

I tried what you said. Default was 3, changed it to 0. Didn't make any difference. I cannot resume. This is a real bummer. I got this real checap - was so excited Is it one of those things that might get fixed in future, or are we saying resume after sleep will never work? Also I have one more issue now. I got DVD RW drive for the laptop. I popped in a CD and it mounted, which tells me the drive is working fine. However just to double QE/CI I launched DVD player and it gives me error "DVD Drive cannot be found". Is this because I installed without DVD drive in place? Do I have to reinstall the OS? The problem is that Help menu does not have "Show supported features" menu item for me to check and also as soon as I dismiss the initialization error box, DVD player exits.

Yes I did try that. i also used UseKernelCache=No and -x to see if anything helped. See absolutely no difference in the outcome whatever switches I try. Last line is always Bluetooth start completed.

Well, then do you have any suggestions? Is it my DSDT?

Made some progress. First found out that if I have laptop battery then Wifi does not have issue connecting after reboot. Not sure why, but I can hardly complain. Second found that the trackpad RHS does not work well, the LHS does. In Windows there is no issue. One of those things... The only real issue I have right now is Sleep. Is there a DSDT patch or kext I'm missing?

I know...I did see that. I tried it. It uses Clover. I failed miserably. Can't even see Clover menu. So I hoped I would get somewhere with Enoch. I did remove the IntelFB graphics kext of course. I guess I might have hit a laptop where I simply have to figure out Clover.

I'm stuck trying to get to the Installer on this laptop. It has i5 CPU with Intel HD graphics. I'm using Enoch. I have removed the AppleIntelGraphicsFB kext from /S/L/E like I believe I'm supposed to. I get stuck on Bluetooth completed, which is right after DSMOS arrived. Attaching my DSDT pack. Thanks for confirming. And I hope using legacy is not a serious drawback. I really hate Clover - too unpredictable for me and not to mention have not had much luck. Enoch on the other hand I can kiss. So I have El Capitan installed now and will try to work through issues. 1) Ethernet Works with AppleIntel1000e 2) Wifi Works, BUT on boot up tries to connect then will not until I turn it OFF/ON. Tested many times. I don't have to enter password again so it does retain it, only won't automatically connect after boot. 3) Shutdown Works 4) Restart Works 5) Sound with VoodooHDA 2.8.2 already in /S/L/E and Fix applied. 6) Sleep DOES NOT Work. This sucks most intensely. 7) USB Ports ALL Work!!! 8) Trackpad the longer I leave it on, the more flaky it is. Taking me 2 minutes to move mouse to Submit button on this post! Okay my problem was I was in "UEFI" mode. I thought this was right. I switched to "Legacy" mode. Problem is with "UEFI" mode I don't see any items in the boot list (while I dunno how it booted my USB stick). With "Legacy" mode I see all my drives in my boot list. Now in "UEFI" I do see buttons to Add/Remove/View boot options ?!?! When I try to add, I see list of two items that are cryptic. I thought they were my USB and hard drive and tried to add them. No dice - computer refuses to boot. So "UEFI" mode with nothing visible in boot list - Diskutility cannot see HD. So I'm using "Legacy" mode now and can see the HD. However, not sure if this is correct. If you can please confirm Enoch needs "Legacy" and this is okay? As I'm typing, El Cap is installing on my HD. PS - The trackpad is very sluggish. Sometimes will not respond at all. Little painful, but does not seem like hardware issue. Just informing, in case there is something missing there...

Hah! Didn't know I can use e6410 DSDT for e6510 ?!?!?!?! I am guessing I will need to use DSDT with the Nvidia card though. I know some of this series laptops come with Intel Graphics. Will give this a shot before bothering with Clover or bother with BIOS update. *EDIT* So I searched and took DSDT from post that said "it worked!". Slammed it into my trusted El Capitan usb stick. Lo and Behold, booted straight into language selection and then Disk Utility. Now the wierdest thing. Disk Utility cannot see my hard drive ?!?!?!? It is there in the BIOS. Why? I have attached DSDT I used. DSDT.aml.zip

Managed to lay my hands on one. I'm collecting the parts and might have to dismantle whole thing to put Bluetooth card seems like. However, that can wait. Had some startup questions. - Can I use Enoch? (I'm seriously Clover challenged, but this has UEFI) - Anyone has DSDT I can use for this model? - Should I update the BIOS to A16? (have A14 now) Specs RAM 4GB (will get 4 more GB) CPU i5 M520 2.4 Ghz GPU Nvidia NVS 3100M (1920 x 1080) Wifi DW 1510 (I replaced the stock N 3600)

Thanks Jake. I figured that was the forum. However there are so many posts in there. The one I found relevant for patching CSR kext within IOBluetoothFamily I tried (and attached in previous post). It did not help. If you have a specific post I can look at. PS - I do have CSR Bluetooth not Broadcom. That's why in my screenshot I showed it.

I think HW Monitor is working now like in my screenshot, I see icon and everything as well (not in my screen shot) I couldn't locate R&D section so searched on the forums. While I was searching for FakeSMC on Github I got kexts with FakeSMC and was asking about them The kexts I got with HWMonitor you said not to do anything with them so was checking. EDIT - Please see attached screenshot of HWMonitor. As you can see the icon does not show but it is there. Not sure what's going on but I added the icon now. Did get new battery kext and how it is showing 100%. Should I accept the update to HWMonitor? I have included all kexts in /E/E which came with the dmg. Incidentally the dmg also had FakeSMC.kext but it looks like same version you gave me separately earlier. The function keys worked before but with new DSDT not working. I will test again as well. EDIT - Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Huh? Bluetooth works, but I cannot turn it off. I will try identify the kext to patch, and try patching it. EDIT - Still need to work on identifying the Broadcom transport kext. I don't care about turning it OFF from the Finder Bar. I can't even turn it OFF from System Preferences. My attempt is attached. Ok I will search for the newer FakeSMC and BatteryManager kexts. I thought you already gave me FakeSMC though. Stupid Question - what do you mean by "do you see cpu+gpu throttling at all"? Where am I looking for it exactly? And what about all those kexts that come with FakeSMC? Shall I put them in my Extra folder? Finally bluetooth - do we need anything other changes for the 1 non-working port? Also another discovery - annoyance - Function keys not working properly. The way I normally test is Fn+F1 to put laptop to sleep and F11 to get windows out of the way to see desktop. Fn+F1 does not work and F11 tries to work but doesn't.

Yes! If you see one of my posts above I patched it with the same Id you did. I just wanted to make sure I told you what occured during the time you were tuning things for me. I will apply everything you have provided and report back in this post. Booted with your DSDT (did not rename it to DSDT.aml yet, will do that at very end) Sleep works. Bluetooth works. Ethernet works. Wifi Works. USB Wierdness - 5 out 6 ports work. The top left port does not work. The HWMonitor, having little trouble installing. I opened the DMG, double clicked on HWMonitor, nothing happens. Also it has bunch of kexts with it. How do I install it exactly? Copy it to Applications folder? And what do I do with the kexts? I copied it to the Desktop and launched it and it is asking me whether update I said remind me later. I don't see it in my tray but it is there next to bluetooth icon. I clicked it and it says "Internal Battery at 4204%" ???? Please advise. PS - I also made one change in the plist - I said UseKernelCache=No. Glad I did, UseKernelCache=Yes progress bar sticks. I will do all that. But I have to ask you something first. I manually installed 10.11.4. As soon as I did that I lost Ethernet . I still have Ethernet visible it just will not connect. I didn't lose any other functionality. Any ideas?

Much obliged! But you know what, I think I fixed my Ethernet issue myself. I found the device id for the BCM5756ME and typed it into the BCM5722D kext (I don't think we call this injecting do we?) So I have it working but it is at en2. I'm going to try to get it at en0 and then test AppStore. Needless to say I want to use what you give me for the USB, but if you can please explain how it can improve things? Meanwhile I will install 10.11.4 update. Sorry to be greedy but one feature I have never been able to get working is SD Card. I mean I can get it working using VoodooSDHC kext but it always breaks sleep so I always opt not to install it. PS - Supported Features under DVD player. All 8 features show Supported! QE/CI working!

Okay, I thought Enoch only worked for El Capitan. If Enoch works for Yosemite, that's real great because it loads kexts from Extra folder reliably which is great before messing with the cache and resulting in unbootable laptop. Can I use Enoch with Yosemite. PS - One of these days I'm just going to get another hard drive and try El Capitan on this laptop. Might be the best thing to solve all problems at once

PS - Voodoo for sound directly installed into S/L/E. I'm not using cache until I get all kexts sorted out. Nothing else besides the kexts in Extensions folder are being additionally used. PPS - Is there an application that can verify QE/CI works? I've been wanting to ask for a long time. It does seem to be working for me. I heard if the Screen Saver works, then QE/CI is working. Err...did I mess up again? I'm using chimera (chameleon, stolen and rebranded) (which I think is an older version of Chameleon?). In my early days with doing this stuff, I kind off got the idea if one had an old laptop one should use older version. What is Chameleon version I should install on my i1720? Needless to say I will clean out my HD and then image it before I try this. My laptop has been working really well and I don't want to mess it up.

Just so I understand, should I only try ECHI replace with EHC1 first? Or I need to do both that and USB Injector thingy? Also I was using 5,1 smbios but then saw the Mavericks thread for M6300 using 3,1 so switched to that. I can switch back to 5,1 if it makes a difference. I just realized it is with 3,1 I have the two left ports working. With 5,1 only the bottom left port works. EDIT - After simply doing ECH1, I got all ports working with 3,1 (with 5,1 I got 3 ports working, so 2 less in total). So I'm going to stick with 3,1 if that's okay. MOST IMPORTANT - Bluetooth started working while I can't seem to turn it off (who cares). I guess internally it uses USB connector ?! I will search for article that explains USB injection. Last time I used it was for latitude e6500 El Cap install, but you had kindly uploaded one so I just took it. For future it might help me to understand with other laptops. Anyways, my one major issue right now is Ethernet (the exact same situation for this laptop I was in with Yosemite)
